China tariffs plus income tax cuts would be a win for our economy.

Let us stop subsidizing Chinese economy with our income tax and their dumped goods.

I lost $14k on this week. 40% of my money is in the S&P. You mean it all comes back tomorrow?

I don’t want it to come back tomorrow. I want it to plunge tomorrow, then immediately recover next week. My regular monthly investments in all my mutual funds are scheduled to be executed based on the closing prices of each fund on the 10th of the month. LOL.

Dude, this stuff always come back up. Many more lost money investing in China FOR GOOD.

This is a buy opportunity, the stock just went back up with Trump saying he would talk to Xi

You real long term enemy is this culture of stock market earning taxes, not the tariffs on Chinese goods.

100% tariff is not the same as 100% income tax under Stalin. The former is a legit defense and foreign subsidy of our government while preserving our assets, the latter is a complete theft by our own government with the help of foreign dumping coming as a means to bribe it and mitigate with black foreign market

I lost $14k on this week.

More relevant is, how much are you up for the year?

“I lost $14k on this week.”

Don’t keep a weekly tab on your stock market earnings and losses. You will be much happier for it.

You only lost if you sold at the lower price. The only valuation that counts is the dollar value on the day you sell. (Or the day the company goes broke!!)

Why not make the tariffs permanent? Why should we let China trade with us at our expense?

Tariffs are really putting America First.

“Why not make the tariffs permanent?”

The other side can tariff too. In this case, we are hurting China worse than they are hurting us.

On the surface that sounds good, but China doesn’t kowtow to its citizens when the suffer. The US does. They are betting they can outlast us or wait for a Dem President who will surrender immediately.

Much like polling; there is only one poll that counts [as long as it is fairly counted].

Just a lay person's question, but how could a higher tariff rate impact our debt with China ?

Jimmy Carter probably worked harder. He certainly worked more. But he is incurably stupid.
