California Dems Legalizing Soviet-Style Reporting of Legal Gun-Owning Co-Workers

A little over a year ago I left one of the most beautiful places on Earth -- California -- because the Democrats running the state were even worse than the Democrats ruining various other states and municipalities throughout America.

I wrote a farewell post here titled "Dear California: Call Me When the Commies Leave" in which I chronicled many of my problems with the Democratic supermajority in the California legislature.

Many think I use the term "commie" flippantly, but I assure you that is not the case. When I call someone a commie, he or she is acting like a commie.

One thing I never doubted for a moment was that the Democrats running the Golden State would continue to prove worthy of the description:

One doesn't have to be a champion of the Second Amendment to find this disturbing. Of course, the anti-gun people won't find it objectionable.

Of course they won't. Anti-gun people are anti-freedom people. It really is as simple as that.

I live in Calif. and have found people to be profoundly shocked that I have a 12 ga. by my bed. I think some of those folks would think I am loony for having a gun and therefore should have my gun taken away. This is going to get scary.

Those of us who have actually read a history book or two know how that story ends, however. They'll encourage government overreach until it reaches them.

My thoughts are they become so addicted to “reporting” non-commies to “teach them a lesson” that they turn on each other when the commies are all that is left.

We are seeing this in the closed environment of government in DC already, they even turned somewhat on Muller the instant he advised “no collusion.”

More open environments will take longer but CA is getting close as the last of the normal American Citizens get out of the cities there.

Soon the progs will be outdoing each other with sjw, being the most offended and the biggest victim while competing to see who can "report" the most people.

It is all they know, it is what they are.

I believe that is why there has always been scum like them throughout history.

In the end, when there’s none of “US” left to hunt, they will hunt each other...

The USSC needs to strike down these red flag laws for failing to provide adequate due process.

Many of them are ex parte. In several states a wide range of people can file them against somebody. In several states it is only a misdemeanor or not even that for knowingly filing a false claim. A person can be denied their constitutional rights for up to a year. There is a very low standard of proof required - for example no evaluation from a licensed psychiatrist. In the case of several states there is a higher standard required for having your guns returned to you than there was to take them in the first place.

Can anybody tell me of any other constitutional right which can be so abused? Can someone be denied their freedom of speech, religion, assembly, right to a speedy and public trial, etc so infringed without due process? Of course not.

Exactly. Conservative flight has left us with exactly what we have. Folks didn’t want to stay and fight. Now they talk about how bad California has become from outside oblivious to the role they played in the process.

By rights, Conservatives should flock to the state and retake it for America.

That’s how the Left took over. They populated it with Leftists and some of us helped make that easier.

Anti-gun people are probably the one who think if they get in trouble and call 911 the police will arrive 2 minutes later. Much to their dismay the courts have already ruled the police are not obligated to respond to emergency situations in a timely manner.

Last time I lived in Cali was the mid 50’s and was just passin’ through with my mom and dad while he was stationed in Monterey. LOL! I think it was okay then but I was only in the 2nd and 3rd grade so what did I know. Hell what do I know now?

Don't Cry for Me, California

Don't cry for me, Caiifornia.

Götterdämmerung's only beginning.
You high-heels-in-short-shorts Annie Fanny ...
You left a wrong number.
Was I your cucumber?

Sac fellated the unions with pensions,
that no one can pay.  Did I mention?
You've embraced the race to Caracas.
Self-destructive, yet wildly seductive,
it's easier than change.

Bankruptcy's not something to pray for
but you're living life on the brink,
and when riptide rips you to a sea of red ink,
don't come crying to me, California.

Maybe we can short-circuit the process by turning them upon one another. But then there’s that Biblical admonition against bearing false witness...oh, well...

It is my understanding that these petitions cannot be filed anonymously. People have to swear you said something and did something that causes a reasonable fear that you are going to shoot them.

That’s a very dangerous place for the affiant. They had damn well be sure.

While filing a false report is ONLY a misdemeanor, they are not protected from civil suit for slander.
