Hurting in ratings, CNN is now pushing for ‘voluntary layoffs’.
CNN says roughly 100 employees have accepted voluntary buyouts a month after an overhaul by parent company AT&T.
Brian Stelter, also confirmed the rumor, trying to spin it as “hundreds of staffers leaving CNN, as voluntary buyouts.”
In a tweet, Brian Stelter said:
There’s a rumor making the rounds today about big impending layoffs at CNN. A CNN spokeswoman is knocking it down on the record: “No layoffs.” There WERE voluntary buyouts throughout the organization, and about 100 people opted for it.
This morning SaraACarter.com was contacted by CNN’s Brian Stelter, who asked our editorial to update the story. This is what he said:
“Sara, your blog post about me yesterday was factually incorrect. Will you be fixing it?
Buyouts: a voluntary way to leave with a big payout. Layoffs: forced firings. It’s strange that you pretended not to know the difference.”
However, “buyouts are a common method for reducing the number and cost of employees.”

I think you can wisely predict that in the spring of 2020...another buy-out will occur (same scale). At some point, around fifty-percent of the weekend coverage will disappear and documentaries will take their place. Some type of sell-off will be discussed, and I would suggest that some Chinese media company will purchase CNN by the end of 2020.
When cable and dish are forced to provide channels on an a la carte basis.
If ATT doesn’t bury this anti-American craphole, bury your generous ATT subscriptions.
Standard AT&T force reduction. First voluntary retirement. Second voluntary layoffs. Third Inverse seniority if needed.
... not until the complacent conservatives wake up to the fact their patronage to Comcast, Disney, and now ATT is ultimately funding the Leftwing agenda.

I’d bet that reruns of the Muppets would kick CNN’s tail. I kinda miss the Muppets.

The lay-off rumors are an incentive to opt for the buyouts, which are probably dirt cheap for the company.
Later it will be announced that not enough people took the buyout, so they are forced to lay off...
i know it is still there when I go to the gym and change the exercise bike TVs with my stealth remote control. Some barely notice it is now Fox, some go berserk.
