LOS ANGELES - The Los Angeles County Sheriffs Department said Wednesday it will not participate in the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcements Warrant Service Officer Program.
The program allows for local authorities to arrest and temporarily detain immigrants in the United States illegally on behalf of the agency, regardless if the city is a so-called sanctuary city.
As previously stated, the Sheriffs Department will keep a line of separation between local law enforcement action and federal immigration policy, Sheriff Alex Villanueva said in a statement. One of the Departments priorities is providing public safety for all of Los Angeles Countys residents, regardless of immigration status.
The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors voted in 2015 to remove federal immigration agents from county jails, but also wanted then-Sheriff Jim McDonnell to continue the departments cooperation with ICE.

Watch out when one politician starts deciding what laws to enforce.
No problem...No federal help for LA County’s gang and drug problems then. Let the county decay further.
/I used to live in L.A. County ways back growing up. It was awesome back then; up until the left got control of everything. So glad I left there. Good look to all the conservatives fight the good fight in CA.
Cloward-Piven
Surprised Rush, Hannity, Levin, Ingraham have no clue what is going on.
The left are showing us something that we have latched onto while other things are going on.
Be interesting to find out how many LA cops have criminal backgrounds...
The Mexicans call L.A. “ Mexico City del Norte”. At some point Mexico will annex California and then the job will be complete. If you think it won’t happen to your state, think again. The powers that be are forcing Anglos to have to rally and rebel.
Fine. Now cut out any federal funding of this haven for illegals.
In kalifornia? That's pretty funny.
Well if they won’t help arrest immigrants will they at least help with illegal aliens?
I moved out of kommiefornia 2005/2006. When I was there the Modesto Bee ran some articles about all the gangs (MS13, Nortenos, Crips, Bloods, etc) placing members in law enforcement and prison guards. It was a significant issue, even then. I can't imagine what it's like now.
Time to charge Sheriff with aiding and abetting crime!
Aren't they called illegal aliens?
Rush and Hannity haven’t had a clue for 20 years.
At least Ingraham took the time to talk to locals.
Southern California has merged with Northern Mexico. How many LA Law non-enforcers are on the take of the Cartels? Or are they servicing them for free??
Levin has specifically mentioned the Cloward-Piven strategy.
An illegal alien gang banger was involved in a high speed chase yesterday that resulted in the death of a 41 year old woman and 5 dogs..that illegal alien scum bag is apparently worth protecting over an American citizen who was just out doing her job as a professional dog walker
The greater Los Angeles basin is a hell hole and as I believe permanently lost
Malibu and Santa Barbara are beautiful but almost appendages
Only in the greater Bay Area do I believe there is any hope for conservatism
KSFO has been a very popular radio station for a very long time
San Diego is just kind of a brain-dead wasteland
Hey lets go to the beach and played volleyball and drink Bud Light!
And lets all remember free republic
The great and wonderful Jim Robinson hails from Fresno!
Most of California is actually RED believe it or not its just its all the rural counties of course-
Perfect. Simple solution. Stop any and all, federal funding of any programs with the Sheriff’s Office
“The great and wonderful Jim Robinson hails from Fresno!”
every time a sotuhern/eastern Freeper (it happens almost every week) with their cliche “ let california and illegals slide to the sea” and I and other Freepers chime in
“..so you want Jim Robinson to drown in the sea? You do realize that FR is in CA, right??”
The left-right political divide used to be about how to run a country.
Now it is about whether to have one.
