Bill Clinton has blasted Brett Kavanaugh for his role in investigating the death of Vince Foster, the Clintonista who came to Washington as deputy White House counsel and ended up taking his own life. Clinton launched his attack on Sunday in Las Vegas during an event billed as “An Evening with the Clintons.”
Clinton took the position that Kavanaugh deserved to be hit with unsubstantiated allegations of sexual assault because of Kavanaugh’s role in the Foster investigation. The former president said that Kavanaugh “didn’t have any problem making us put up with three years of Vince Foster nonsense that was a total charade.”
Gee, if I could be sure that Clinton would drop the elder statesman facade and indulge in this sort of self pity, I might pay $1,000 (or whatever) to spend an evening with him. Nah.
Clinton has no legitimate beef with Kavanaugh over the Foster investigation. First, it was Ken Starr, the independent counsel, who decided to pursue this matter. Starr did so because the air was rife with conspiracy theories about Foster’s death and, as Quin Hillyer points out, the work of Starr’s predecessor hadn’t put the conspiracy theories to rest.
Starr’s decision was a good one. In any event, it was Starr’s, not Kavanaugh’s. And it was Starr who ordered Kavanaugh to “leave no stone unturned.”
Second, as Hillyer argues, Clinton should be grateful for Kavanaugh’s work on the Foster matter. The exhaustive nature of the work performed by Kavanaugh and John Bates (now an anti-Trump federal judge) put the conspiracy theories largely to rest.
The Clintons should also be grateful that Starr excluded from his report the fact that, just before Foster committed suicide, Hillary Clinton publicly humiliated him, thus quite possibly triggering the suicide. I wrote about this here.
I’ve heard it suggested that the last minute allegations of sexual misconduct against Kavanaugh were the Clintons’ revenge for the nominee’s role in Starr’s investigations. I don’t buy it. That circus was about keeping a conservative nominee off the court, not about the 1990s. The Clintons, though, did make a run at keeping Kavanaugh off the D.C. Circuit. Hillary, then a Senator, blocked him for quite some time in an attempt at revenge.
However, I’m pretty sure the Clintons have no beef with Kavanaugh over the Foster part of the independent counsel’s investigation. The Clintons’ grudge is based on the Lewinski probe in which Kavanaugh also participated.
Understandably, Bill Clinton doesn’t want to talk about the Lewinsky portion of the Starr investigation. It’s way too embarrassing. Thus, he comes down on Kavanaugh over the Foster investigation, which concerned matters for which Bill wasn’t culpable and as to which he can play the victim a bit more plausibly.
It’s a clever move. Bill Clinton is a clever bitter old man.

STROLL DOWN MEMORY LANE-—Bill Clinton gets impeached
Only recently, Monica Lewinsky came clean and made clear that a sitting President, Bill Clinton, suborned perjury from her. An impeachable offense, for which the penalty is loss of his law license.
All of Clinton’s crimes happened while he was a sitting president:
the 47 Oral Office visits from Monica; subornation of perjury, lying under oath, hush money, etc etc etc.
Clinton lied under oath about suborning Monica. Five of the charges against him were for obsruction of justice.
MORE EGREGIOUSLY.....Clinton even went so far as to have Lewinsky give Linda Tripp written instructions, coaching Linda on how to properly perjure herself in the Willey matter. (Linda didnt buy it.)
THE LIST GOES ON AND ON: Bill’s intimate pal, Vernon Jordan, arranged a $40,000-per-year cushy government job for Lewinsky shortly
after she signed ......but before she filed...... a falsified affidavit saying she had NOT had sex with the president.
As insurance, Clinton had another pal, his Ambassador to the United Nations, Bill Richardson, personally visit Lewinsky at the Watergate to offer her a government job to shut her up.
AND THIS David Schippers was asked by his friend, Congressman Henry Hyde, to be Chief Investigative Counsel for the US House Judiciary Committee. Schippers, a lifelong Democrat, accepted and took the job in April 1998. The Hyde Committee was holding an inquiry on whether Clinton had committed impeachable offences in his handling of the Paula Jones sexual harassment suit..... during which Clinton committed perjury regarding his affair with Monica Lewinsky. The committee in December 1998 voted to impeach Clinton........a decision supported by Schippers.
On December 10, 1998, Schippers said to the committee:
“The President, then,

<><> he lied to his top aides,

Upon the passage of H. Res. 611, Clinton was impeached on December 19, 1998, by the House of Representatives on grounds of perjury to a grand jury (by a 228–206 vote) and obstruction of justice (by a 221–212 vote).
The Senate voted not to remove the impeached president.

Special counsel Robert Mueller’s report mentions a claim that Russians recorded President Bill Clinton having phone sex with White House intern Monica Lewinsky — but the reference was redacted from the version released to the public. The redaction is likely to anger Republicans, because the allegation has been known since at least 2001 and the Mueller report's reference to a claim that President Trump watched prostitutes urinating in a Moscow hotel room was not struck out.
Clinton allegedly was recorded by Russia in the 1990s, allowing Russia to learn of the affair before American officials. A reference to the Clinton intercept was redacted from the Mueller report to protect “personal privacy,” but sources told the Washington Examiner that the context makes clear what was blacked out.
According to the report, Center for the National Interest President Dimitri Simes sent Trump son-in-law Jared Kushner a 2016 email with recommended talking points to counter Hillary Clinton's Russia attacks. The email referenced “a well-documented story of highly questionable connections” between Bill Clinton and Russia.
At a meeting in New York, Simes told Kushner the details: Russia allegedly recorded President Clinton on the phone with Lewinsky, opening questions of foreign leverage over the ex-president-turned-potential first spouse. “During the August 17 meeting, Simes provided Kushner the Clinton-related information that he had promised. Simes told Kushner that, [redacted],” the Mueller report says. “Simes claimed that he had received this information from former CIA and Reagan White House official Fritz Ermarth, who claimed to have learned it from U.S. intelligence sources, not from Russians.”
Whenever Vince Foster comes up and we are called conspiracy nuts, I notice the one thing that’s always left out is the number of hours that the FBI was not allowed in Vince Foster’s office and Clinton people carried cases of records out of there which then mysteriously” disappeared.
Surprisingly our skepticism of that whole Fiasco is grounded in logic
Bill Clinton was a decadent sexual reprobate and liar that gave employer sexual abuse of a young woman volunteer employee a new definition. He was a serial fornicator and adulterer of dozens of women for an entire young generation to see. He defiled the White House itself with oral sex demanded of a young intern. He absolutely RAPED Juanita Broderick and and paid Paula Jones $800,000 for sexual assault. He lost his law license because he lied in the face of a Federal Judge, and paid a $250,000 fine for contempt of court. I DON’T WANT TO HEAR HIS CASTIGATION OF BRET KAVANAUGH. It makes me wretch.
