On Tuesday’s broadcast of MSNBC’s “Hardball,” host Chris Matthews stated that if President Trump’s tax returns had been publicly known, “He wouldn’t have won” the 2016 election.
Matthews said, “He wouldn’t have won. That’s the catch-22. If the American people found out the guy’s prancing around with the airplanes and skyscrapers, and he owns everything in the world, golf courses all over the world, and he doesn’t pay any taxes, they’d say, that’s not fair. You can’t be our leader. I think even the people in Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Michigan would say, at the margin, he’s not my guy. My people pay taxes.

Obviously this idiot forgot why this country was started. Taxes suck. If anyone can get away with not paying them,more power to them.
And yet again....fake news.
Real estate deductions were used by millions of investors in the 80’s, Limited partnerships were HUGE back in those days. Then Congress (not Trump) changed their own laws.
Every real estate owner pays all kinds of taxes.
The scandal? Trump used depreciation and loss-carry forwards to minimize his taxes as much as the law allowed.
And who doesn’t do that???

And none of them want to. Even the ones who say they do.
Trump’s like the rest of us: we want taxation to go away.
By the way, Chrissy: when you gonna release YOUR returns? Show us all the deductions you turned down?

Since 1988 we have been forced to choose between a Democrat in an R jersey or a Democrat in a D jersey, we got an open borders President either way.
President Trump offered US the opportunity to FINALLY have a President who sides with the citizens and the rule of law.
I doubt anything in his tax returns would have changed that.
If the Obamadork had released any records, he wouldn’t have won. I don’t care about President Trump’s tax returns. I care about who Obama really is.
Most mortgage holders deduct interest, is that a crime. In the 1980's thousands of real estate and drilling and other limited partnerships were set up specifically to take advantage of tax laws -ALL LEGAL.
This is precicely why they want his returns, because huge investments have huge losses and deductions and they can willingly twist and deceived people into thinking legal is illegal.
And how many jobs have you created in your lifetime Chrissy???
No one cares about Trump’s tax returns except for desperate Democrats grasping at straws. It’s amazing how out of touch the Democrats are with the mood of the people.
What’s his point? Nobody would be elected if everything was known, and one particular point was considered the only relevant one
Sixty companies in the Fortune 500....paid no fed taxes in 2018. Most of them can say they did that for multiple years. All legit and legal....Congress and the Senate wrote the laws (all 80,000 pages).
