Men Have No Friends and Women Bear the Burden
Harpers ^ | May 2, 2019 | Melanie Hamlett

Posted on 05/07/2019 10:58:25 AM PDT by Galatians328

Toxic masculinity—and the persistent idea that feelings are a "female thing"—has left a generation of straight men stranded on emotionally-stunted island, unable to forge intimate relationships with other men. It's women who are paying the price.

It's women who are paying the price.

Eight inches at a time.

3 paragraphs that’s all I could stomach of this drivel.

Someone doesn’t like boys, they have cooties. :-(

I guarantee you men spend a lot of time thinking about women. A LOT.

However, much of that thought is concentrated around certain parts of the female anatomy rather than profound questions about relationships, emotions, commitments, and so forth.

So while I suspect the TIME each sex spends thinking about the other is roughly equal, the CHARACTER of that thought probably differs considerably.

Experiences.... bonds are from experiences.

I’ve been in the military and a lot of hi-stress jobs in the civilian world (turn arounds, startups, compliance shut downs). The camaraderie built in those environments holds on for a very long time.

That being said - I’ve never had someone that I would call a ‘best’ friend. I’ve had friends from school days and a lot of long term acquaintances from work, but I’ve never really had that best bud.

Too much moving around and not enough common interests - I suppose.

Ha, ha. Good point, but the wife just won’t go to the shows I go to. Used to go with my sister but she passed away at a young age.

Luckily for me my wife doesn’t mind that I go without her, plus I live 10minutes from the Hard Rock Cafe and the Orlando House of Blues.

Yep. I would agree that scientific psychology is pretty much an oxymoron.

“When women talk about their problems, they’re looking for someone to commiserate and sympathize with. They’re not interested in how you think they should fix it, ie, man ‘splaining.”

That’s because women talk about problems, and men solve them.

Just what I need. A male friend so that two women can have input into what I do with my time.

All of my friends are dead.

Expecting death every day.
Someday I will not know
disappointment. Tet.

Any way, what would I do with a woman?
I have a good dog.

As I remember a girlfriend dimly through the mists of time,
“Kill me slowly, inch by inch! she would say.

God bless her, she’s dead too.
