The Trump Administrations Department of Homeland Security has forced Chinas state-owned Costco to sell the Port of Long Beach over security concerns.
Chinas Costco Shipping Holdings, which bought out its 75 percent-owned Hong Kong-based Orient Overseas International (OOCL), was forced to sell its Port of Long Beach Container Terminal ownership to Macquarie Infrastructure Partners for $1.78 billion.
The Obama administration had no problems with OOCL signing a 40-year lease with the City of Long Beach in 2012 for control of Americas second largest and most automated container handling operation. The sweetheart deal was part of the Middle Harbor Redevelopment Program" to fund a $1.5 billion expansion through 2020.

Exactly! The person who wrote this is so stupid!
COSCO, not Costco
WINNING!
Wasnt this the place where the port authority person was asked if any weapons of mass destruction were found coming in and he didnt deny it?
Matter of fact, I think he admitted they were coming in.
Anyway. It hit the news and of course they covered it up in a short while.
And when the day comes we kick the Klintons out of the USA, we'll know we have hope.
No kidding. I was wondering what Sam Walton had to do with it. We should merge this with the other thread complaining about journalists now being recruited from grammar school.
Here is my ONLY issue with this. We play fair by ALLOWING China to sell in order to recoup their money. However in China they seize businesses and leave the company holding the bag on its losses. Yes China needs us to remain economically competitive but make no mistake about it China can unfortunately cripple our economy just as badly as we can theirs. The difference being China could weather the storm much longer than we could. Why? Because their public is more hard lined under their repressive regime than our entitled weakened narcissistic consumer society.
It’s kinda hard to take an author seriously who doesn’t know the difference between the Chinese government owned overseas shipping company and the publicly traded second largest retailer in the United States.
President Trump has just redefined and elevated my view of what winning even looks like with this one
It's not 'Costco.'
It's COSCO (China Ocean Shipping Company)
I couldn't even read the article. With this glaring error, everything else the author writes is suspect.
I believe that’s “COSCO.”
That was a classic building. Really reflected the WWII era.
I disagree with your view on China’s ability to weather the storm. Much of what we purchase can be bought from other suppliers than the Chinese.
China cannot get the resources it needs without the money we provide.
There might be some economic pain to us if we totally stop any trade with China, but there would be widespread starvation and rioting in China. Even in economic slowdowns, they have rioting and the government puts it down very harshly.
believe that is located in Seal Beach ( Weapons Depot )....do not think the Navy at this time has any thing on Terminal Island ( filled in swamp and old hunting preserve ) which is really where the old Navy Station was located which is I guess part of Long Beach
Say what you want folks, Donald Trump is an astute Conservative, and he gets it. This sort of thing didnt even register on Bushs radar. To me, it was a big deal, and I honestly couldnt imagine the US allowing it in the first place.
I thought it was right at the entrance
P
China has owned the Clintons since the early days of Arkansas.
wanted to give away the store (and national security concerns) to the Chinese.
To cite just one case ...
Immediately prior to joining the DNC, [John] Huang worked in President Clinton’s Commerce Department as deputy assistant secretary for international economic affairs. His position made him responsible for Asia-U.S. trade matters. He was appointed to the position by President Clinton in December 1993. His position at the Commerce Department gave him access to classified intelligence on China. While at the department, it was later learned, Huang met 9 times with Chinese embassy officials.
Because their public is more hard lined under their repressive regime than our entitled weakened narcissistic consumer society.>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Not so sure about that. Hard times in America bring about loads of creativity, innovation and conservatism. America is more than just tough.
