Maybe the problem with religious folk is that they feel the need to wade into politics and society and get burned and split into factions doing so.

I like to think of the Higher Being as being above our debates over who to vote for and support politically.

I’m not trying to single out because the liberals come out using God just like conservatives do.

I’m bothered by all sides, not just one of them.

And of course, there are a few examples in the Bible, Sodom and Gomorrah not being the sole examples.

2 Peter 2:6

... if he condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah by burning them to ashes, and made them an example of what is going to happen to the ungodly;

I’m sorry she died so young. I could say more but I don’t wish to be cruel.

These verses have often caused me to ponder. I know in my own life that I was saved when I was 18. I was heavily into church, Bible study, etc into my 30s but went astray for aproximately 20 years. I didn’t willingly come back as much as God led me back to Him. So, either I didn’t truly “fall away” according to Hebrews or God accomplished the “impossible” with me.

I know I am not alone. I’ve met several Christians who were devoutly spiritual in their 20s and 30s but gave up on it in their middle years only to return later in life.

I don’t say any of this with any personal pride. I contend that the Lord led me back. I didn’t choose it any more than I chose to be saved the first time. I give all the praise to the Lord Jesus who did not give up on me when He had every right and reason to do so.

I imagine at some point after I’m called to Heaven, I will have this passage explained so that I may know. For now, I just walk in faith and accept that I don’t know all things.

I am sure it was a loss to her friends and family. Her death is no loss to righteousness.

The OP is singing the praises of a rabid left winger, apostate confusion creating person. Makes me wonder about the OP.

Her claim to be pro-life was a proven to be a sham to anyone paying attention.

she can be wrong, and still a Christian. Your statement is precisely the type of sentiment hat pushes people into the liberal camp.

I do not wish this on her or anyone. However, many non-famous persons suffer such loss, and few care.

I consider her philosophy - I will not call it theology - heretical, and her influence regrettable.

I wish prominent people would be more forthcoming about the nature and the progression of their diseases.

When fatally ill people (or their families) are silent or vague, it is a wasted opportunity for the living to learn about the possible preventions or treatments and to gird themselves for the physical challenges to come.

Getting a bacterial infection has nothing to do with being vaccinated to hopefully prevent a specific viral disease.

True - But some vaccinations target bacterial infections (e.g., TB).

Our Founding Fathers called upon God throughout their planning and writings as they formed this great nation!

Thankful they were political.

Well, I just read her NPR bio......
.....confirms her apostasy to me.......Russel Moore is another problematic apostate.

This woman was doing much damage......influencing others......
...totally circling the apostate drain!

Her opinions are not from the Word.......I would say they’re from the Pit!

How terribly sad for Ms. Evans’ family and friends. They have my deepest sympathy and my prayers.

We all think we’re so safe, but we aren’t.

Maybe the problem with religious folk is that they feel the need to wade into politics and society and get burned and split into factions doing so.

*Religious* people who ahve just as much right as citizens of this country to vote and be involved with the political process as anyone who is not *religious*.

While this country is not officially a Christian nation, as it has no state established religion, it most certainly was founded on Judeo-Christian thought and was the better for it.

As we have moved away from that, the problems we are now experiencing have surfaced.

I like to think of the Higher Being as being above our debates over who to vote for and support politically.

The Christian God most certainly does care about how we live our lives and treat others. And He does care about political situations and corrupt and immoral governments. Much of His judgment of nations in the past is for injustice and immorality prevailing.

I’m not trying to single out because the liberals come out using God just like conservatives do.

No doubt liberals are trying to use the God card, but most conservatives actually try to live out what they believe and therein lies the difference.

Liberals do not live anything close to Biblical morality and yet appeal to Him simply to harvest votes.

Christians/conservatives live what they profess and so are not just engaged in lip service to advance their political career. If you want to know how to discern the difference, see if how they live matches what they profess.

Wrong. She claimed to be a Christian. Read 1 Corinthians 5 and Matthew 7 very carefully, along with John 7:24. If you are a Christian too, you had every right to judge her. We are not to judge those OUTSIDE the church. Those inside the church we are commanded to judge (1 Corinthians 5:12,13) provided we aren’t being hypocrites about it (Matthew 7:1-5). Galatians 1:8,9; Romans 16:17 Titus 3:10,11; 2 Thessalonians 3:6,14; 2 Timothy 3:5 also make this clear.

It’s not scripture to say “we are not to judge.” People who say that don’t know their Bibles and they usually don’t know what the word “krino” actually means. It means to come to a conclusion and then cast aside (which is what I see people do everyday-the church always has it backwards). We don’t do that with those who deny the faith. That is clear. However, with those who claim it and are heretics? We most certainly do. The New Testament is full of commands of how we are to judge people like her.
