Wow, scary.
Miami Air = DOD plane?
Only two?
Wow. So glad only two...
The plane is in VERY shallow water just off the end of runway 9 (east bound) at NAS Jax
The plane was landing in light winds (<6 kts) when a sudden, very brief, thunderstorm passed over the runway from west to east. This was the same direction as the plane was landing. There is speculation, no hard facts, that there may have been a down-burst. This would have caused a sudden lost of lift
Given that there was sudden heavy rain, I think the plane was unable to stop. It certainly wasn't going very fast when it went off the runway.

I wonder if I will see this someday on Aircraft Investigations? I watch that show several times a week.
Word is a lot of Boeing’s manufacturing lately has been shoddy and outsourced.
The reputation of the wonderful 737 is taking a real beating lately. :-/
Saw this home-made simulation on YOUTUBE.
This simulation crash is made with x-plane 11 flight simulator [XP11]
THIS IS NOT EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED, THIS IS ONLY A SIMULATED FLIGHT CRASH OF MIAMI AIR FLIGHT LL293.
Little creepy at end.

Everyone knows that this can’t happen in America. It can only happen when you are dealing with low quality 3rd world pilots.

Contracted airline should have contract canceled. Air conditioning was out before departure, still flew. What other issues?
For the record, this is NOT a new Boeing 737! It is a 737-800, and was manufactured in 2001.
Lotta questions about this accident — need more info.
Full disclosure, my SIL is a B737 Captain - I’ll ask him about it.
