Joe Biden holds a 30-point lead over Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) in the Democratic presidential field, according to a Harvard CAPS/Harris Poll survey released exclusively to The Hill, further signaling that the former vice president is cementing his place as the primary contest’s front-runner.
Forty-four percent of Democratic voters surveyed said they are most likely to vote for Biden in the 2020 Democratic primaries. Sanders comes in second place at 14 percent, while Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) places third with just 9 percent, the poll found.

I visited the home of President James K Polk last summer. I learned that the convention was locked with no candidate having a majority. On about the tenth ballot( Ithink) Polk’s name was put forward out of the blue. He was nominated and went on to win
My version of your thought is that after four ballots with no winner, Hillary’s name will be put forward and she will win on the fifth ballot. The convention debacle will conclude in a greater debacle of another Hillary candidacy

I find it surprising that biden is doing this well with base dem voters.
I never though Romney was a ‘my turn’ candidate. That was sorta wide open. But he did lose like a punk by failing to campaign hard past August.
Fringe candidates always get the early attention, think Ron Paul for Republicans, but the silent majority usually go with the most centrist of candidates, even the Democrats do. The fringes just make the most noise.
