Just causing the crashes Americans refuse to cause.
He’ll be told his court date and be pinky sworn to promise he’ll be back.
Never be seen again.
Texas man, uh huh, this time we believe you........
My wife has been paying closer attention to this then I have. She says that the driver lost control of his rig because the breaks went out. He passed several run away truck ramps because he could not read English. And on the radio they were interviewing other truck drivers that said the driver was inexperienced and not well trained. Add to that, the company that owns the truck only has $750k insurance. That was gone in just the first few cars he hit.
He had a valid CDL so who knows?
According to court documents, Aguilera-Mederos, a Cuban by birth who’s been in the United States legally for several years, passed by a runaway truck ramp going about 85 miles per hour, and when he saw traffic stopped ahead, he tried to move his vehicle onto the interstate’s shoulder, only to realize that another semi was already there. Witnesses told investigators that the expression on his face around the time of impact was wide-eyed and terrified.
After the pile-up, which involved 28 vehicles, caused at least ten injuries in addition to the four fatalities and led to a closure of I-70 in both directions until the next day, Aguilera-Mederos insisted to authorities that his brakes had failed and Fox31 subsequently reported that the company for which he drove had a history of brake issues on its vehicles. Aliet Diaz, a friend who visited Aguilera-Mederos in jail, told the station that “he said, ‘I’m innocent. I will be here and I will be fighting through everything...because I know I’m innocent.”
Nafta permits Mexican truckers to drive in this country.
Before they had to leave their load at the boarder.
Theoretically American drivers can also drive in Mexico, except it is too dangerous
Texas ? I didn’t know Chiapas was in Texas.
Per Lakewood police, Rogel Lazaro Aguilera-Mederos, the truck
driver arrested after Thursday’s deadly 28-vehicle crash on
Interstate 70, “is in the U.S. legally on a green card” and
is originally from Cuba
Is he an illegal?
Then: Never mind.
Wanna bet?
From the article:
The district attorney for Jefferson County, where the crash took place, charged Aguilera-Mederos with 40 counts on Friday, including four counts of vehicular homicide, six of first degree assault and 24 of attempted first degree assault.
Ive read that hes from Cuba and has a green card.
This reminds me of the case of the truck driver that collided with the bus carrying the Humboldt Broncos in Saskatchewan, which killed 16. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Humboldt_Broncos_bus_crash
He was a young immigrant man from India. Wouldn’t surprise me if he got his license from a license mill with inadequate training. He was employed by a company run by another of his countrymen, which had a record of safety violations. Totally missed seeing several stop signs, because he was distracted doing something.
And now he’s going to jail on an 8 year sentence, after which he may well be deported.
He drove a big rig all of his adult life (64 yrs old when he died) without so much as a speeding ticket.
He made it through all 48 states several times without being in an accident.
He was killed on 2/2/18 in his own car, in an accident caused by an illegal alien within 1/4th of a mile of his home.
The cops said it was 100% her fault.
BUILD THE F***ING WALL.
That boy’s not going to drive commercially again.
Who issued a CDL license to a chap who couldn’t identify an emergency ramp for semi trucks?
He has awesome defense. Brakes went out down hill.
And why did I know it was a messycan name before I read the article? Thank you jorge busho and company.
The company that hired him will be out of business pretty quick. I’ve had my brakes start smoking out in the back country. Just got to pull over and enjoy the scenery for awhile.

There was another article on “completecolorado.com”
I used to live in Golden. The accident happened by Denver West exit on 70, after 70 is relatively flat for over a mile. The driver had time to downshift and pull over.
That being said, CO-DOT has blood on its hands. They allow trucks to cruise too fast. I would consistently be passed by big rigs, when I was driving 10 miles over speed limit. There’s no need for a big truck to go faster. One thing California gets right is reigning in on big truck speeds.
