Update: Following the "hearing," Chairman Nadler doubled down on his belief that Barr is "afraid of cross-examination." Ranking member Doug Collins, who has sat on the committee for six years, said what he witnessed this morning was "unprecedented."

The House Judiciary Committee hearing with Attorney General Bill Barr proceeded on Thursday without the witness. He was expected to answer questions about special counsel Robert Mueller's Russia investigation for the second day in a row, but decided against it because of arguments over who would be interrogating him. Chairman Jerry Nadler (D-NY), for his part, insisted that Barr was afraid to answer questions.

In his rebuttal, ranking member Doug Collins (R-GA) noted that Barr sat for six hours before the Senate Judiciary Committee on Wednesday. Clearly, he's not terrified of sitting before Congress. The issue, Collins said, was that the Democrats wanted staff members to ask questions of the attorney general.
"If that staff member wants to ask questions, run for Congress," Collins suggested.
The attorney general is not here today, he added, "because the Democrats didn't want him here today."
Rep. Doug Collins said "the reason Bill Barr is not here today is because Democrats decided they did not want him here," adding the House Judiciary Committee isn't getting the chance to hear from Barr "because the stunt and the circus continues" https://t.co/3mq7FTP7vY pic.twitter.com/etzPJ73utw POLITICO (@politico) May 2, 2019
Nadler did not directly respond to his colleague's remarks, instead concluding the hearing with his gavel. Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) had begun to speak up with an objection, but Nadler ignored him and cut the Republican's mic.
.@RepJerryNadler: "We will defend the prerogatives of congress. We'll defend the rights of the American people to know what's going on"@mattgaetz: "There is not going to be a recognition of members who seek legitimate inquiry as to the procedures?!"

Only in Washington!
The majority of voters will see this as a children’s circus led by democrats, no matter how much spin their media provides for cover.
GOP 1
DEMS -1
The left is completely humorless.
Needler Nadler is just following the Donk Liberal Fascist talking points from their Joseph Goebbels Play Book.
I hope Needler Nadler keeps it up, America is now turning toward the truth about the Liberal Fascist Donks having perpetrated an attempted coup on a duly elected President of the United States.
And when America is finished, Needler Nadler and A damn Shitt won’t even have seats in Congress.
The perps will do time. Its happening. Now. Prosecution for Sedition and the whole nine yards.
Pelosi looks like someone just roused her from the crypt, and she didn’t have time to comb her hair. Sad.
Yes, Nadler proves that combination is a loser.
Similar to the admonition from the great Dean Wormer. Fat, drunk, and stupid is no way to go through life, son.
Fat B@st@rd didnt want Barr to testify, thats why he threw out unprecedented stupid conditions for the public hearing (lynching).
Fat B@st@rd is obviously getting nervous, he knows hes no match for Barr.
That is the only thing he did wrong the first two years. If he made deals with them and they reneged he should have said so. I think he did, but after it was too late and two wasted years went by.
Take my Congressman, please!
Eat chicken while the Dems burn down Washington
Funny, but....
I'll stick up for her just this one time. She misses one lousy appointment for Botox injections and plastic surgery skin tucks and look at the criticism. After you reach 79 it's patch, patch, patch.
I can’t believe how stupid I am not to see exactly what Mueller’s problem was with Barr’s summary.
It was PERSONAL. Mueller did not like how the media was TREATING HIM. I heard that he didn’t like the media’s interpretation of Barr’s summary, but I couldn’t figure out what he meant.
I hope Rush talks about this on his show, because there may be others who didn’t understand Mueller’s complaint.
Someone said on Fox that it was hard for him after being praised by the media up until Barr’s summary.
BOO-freakin-hoo. Now that I know, I love it.
He spent the first two hours of yesterday’s show discussing exactly that subject.
Hey, I see what you did there. Comedy isn't dead afer all. Just some of the old comedians.
We can only hope that the chicken sat out too long, and some of those who eat/ate it will have painful consequences. Karma, baby.
The Democrats have come to really embrace banana republic stuff.
If President Trump is serious about what the Left has done to him over the past two years never happening again (i.e., the ongoing coup effort of the Democrat/Left), then he needs to hit the Democrat/Left so hard, so swiftly, so completely that they will at least think twice about what they are doing to our country.
Do it President Trump. Do it now to stop -- or at least slow down -- the Left's ceaseless attacks on you, on your family, on your friends, on your business associates, and on our Constitution and on our Republic. Trials leading to imprisonment take time and will follow, but decisive and definitive action against the leaders and others involved in this most serious effort to overturn the 2016 presidential election needs to happen now. This is indeed "deadly serious stuff" going on here.
BUMP!
I tweeted to Nadler that he’s pathetic and terrified now that he knows Barr won’t be coerced/bullied by them and that when Barr’s hammer comes down it will have much more force than his pathetic and fearful gavel...
The democrats in the U.S. House of Representatives all have one thing in common: they’re ugly in every respect.
