Michael Bennet, the moderate, studious Democratic senator from Colorado known for his work on education and immigration reform, announced his candidacy for president on Thursday.
He joins a field so packed with candidates that it now includes six of his colleagues in the Senate and his former boss, John Hickenlooper, a past governor of Colorado.
“My plan is to run for president,” he said in an interview on “CBS This Morning.”

Bennett (that makes 2 from Colorado! A pale imitation of Jeb vs. Rubio) and Montana Governor Steve Bullock will announce in a week or two. That will make 23.
Bennett immediately tops the list, the alphabetic list. He’s praying Stacy Abrams doesn’t get in, she would be hard to beat.
BIRTHER ALERT, Bennett was apparently born in New Delhi, his daddy was our Ambassador’s coffee boy or something. Might sound like an easy job but we’re talking about a tea drinking country long before Starbucks. I imagine he pretty much would have had to buy it and brew it himself.
Every time some pissant enters the race 538 does it’s due diligence and writes a science fiction article on how they might be able to win. They don’t mention any of the obvious ways a minor candidate might become beloved of the rat base, pooping on an American flag to protest “racist police”, trying to assassinate a Republican, or announcing their weird sexual fetish. I tell you if Andrew Yang goes on Sean Hannity, announces he likes to have sex with patio furniture and then tries to stab Hannity with a plastic spork, you’re looking at your nominee right there.
