There are a lot of Freepers who owe William Barr an apology. From some of the rants I saw posted here when he was nominated, youd think we were getting Eric Holder back in charge of the DOJ.
I’ll say!
Too many to count or remember!
Given Barr’s swampy resume you really could not blame any FReeper for being suspicious. But today’s performance was very encouraging.
Some things, you just have wait and see.
So many folks go all-in on criticism before there’s any justification for it.
Thanks for refreshing our collective memories on that issue, FRiend.
While acknowledging that Barr had a GOPe background, I reserved my opinion at the time.
Hope for the best — but prepare to be disappointed. Much as I admire our president, I am bewildered by some of his personnel choices.
Still, several commentators have pointed out that Trump’s business background inclines him to pick people for specific tasks. Once these tasks are accomplished, the people move on — voluntarily or otherwise.
Based on what we’ve seen so far, I would say AG Barr is coming to grips with the formidable task before him. He seems to be a patriot.
The big question will be whether Barr remains at the helm during the indictment phase that can’t begin soon enough. This will require a degree of ruthlessness that I’m not sure even Trump himself possesses.
Most Freepers wouldnt make it out of the first day of confirmation hearings because they dont know how to navigate the process. Barr had to play the game and say all of the right things to get through the nomination process because the goal is to actually GET into the position and then make changes; not scream about Hillary needs to be in jail and that they werent going to be fair with Mueller report right from the get go during the hearings
More and more, I think Trump knew what he was getting with Sessions and knew how it would play out. Trump used Sessions and the recusal and all that to lead the rope, lead the line. Then, when the investigations were winding down, and being fruitless, he cut Sessions loose, freeing up the spot for Barr. Somehow, somewhere, perhaps someone, let Trump know who he could trust. That seems to have been Barr. Call it “3-D chess” or Trump channeling Machiavelli, I really don’t know. But something has happened.

My question is simple, “Did they believe in their anti Barr BS, or were they paid to post that slimey bs?”
