BERKELEY COUNTY, W.Va. - The Berkeley County Board of Education has filed a lawsuit against Amber Pack, the mother of Adri Pack.
Back in October, Amber Pack placed a recording device in Adri's hair after she noticed bruises when she came home from Berkeley Heights Elementary School. According to Ben Salango, Pack's attorney, the Board of Education is claiming the recording is illegal and should be excluded from evidence in the case.

Install GoPro body cams for your public school child. With real time internet, the parent could have an immediate cell call to the school.
I remember how the nuns taught religion. They would grab you by the hair and say, "God -- (SLAP) -- is -- (SLAP) -- love! (SLAP)
Same here. I received an extraordinary education in my twelve years of Catholic schooling, in which almost all of my teachers were dedicated, caring religious sisters.
I would think that would apply to private conversations.
This was probably non-private conversation in a “public” school.
I sure as hell I would have done the same thing and probably played it at the next PTA meeting and emailed a copy to every parent at that school I could!

Nuns smacking you once with a ruler was beating the crap out you??? ROFL!!!
While there may not have been bodily harm, telling this poor child that she should be backhanded across her teeth does not sound like a very good way to engage a child. Horrible teacher and rotten human being in my opinion.
Since W. V. is a one pastry State I don’t even know why a judge would have discretion over admissibility. But, yeah, a whole lotta hell could be raised outside the courtroom.

In my state, at the time, it was illegal to tape someone but not to videotape them.
Well we hired babysitter’s to take care our kids when they were little. We would set up a hidden video recorder on a timer. There was nothing to see but I would listen to the recording when I came home that night. Happily they were all boring.
If it was a choice between the law or my children, I’d protect my kids and the law be dammed.
Even better.
But my point is two-party consent states allow recording by only one person under certain circumstances. This would be one of them.
She could support a decent tape recorder and mikes.
It is often illegal to record when you are not a party to the event.
However, as a parent of a party, she is probably covered by the law.
Many States try to make it illegal for only one party to record - two party recording states. However, those laws should fall in court when challenged.
Things are at the point where a body cam is almost mandatory.
We’ll have to ask Uncle Joe if it passes the sniff test.
So “Public Schools” are not public places. And Public school teachers are not public servants.
It’s nice to know which animals are more equal than the rest.
Another Reason to Homeschool...
That’s a nice teacher ya got there. Be a shame something should happen to it.
