The University of North Carolina on Tuesday said it had received reports of an “active shooter” at its Charlotte campus and local media said three people had been struck by gunfire before a suspect was taken into custody.

Seriously, I remember the older professors there claiming they could look out their office windows and see the cows on the neighboring farms. I couldn’t see it since by the time I got there in the 90’s it was a developed suburban area. Haven’t been back to the campus since the late 90’s though, so I can only imagine what it is like these days.
I had an uncle go there in the 80s.
Early 1980’s when I was staying in Mallard Creek. I remember people wondering why it was called UNC-Charlotte.
