Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein submitted his resignation letter to President Trump on Monday, ending a tumultuous two years in which he tried to steady a rocky Justice Department and its relationship with the White House.
His resignation is effective May 11.

Maybe the day Horowitz is officially done with him?
Rosenweasel drops off his 2-weeks’ notice and starts packing his bags for a nice long vacation to a non-extradition country.
Right. Which is why I disagree with the “let’s move on” argument.
Effective May 11th eh?
Can you say IG Horowitz report day?
I knew you could.
**...he tried to steady a rocky Justice Department and its relationship with the White House.***
He did NOT
He was one of the ones that tried to take Trump down
WSJ is whitewashing his past
Now that the coup attempt failed, there’s nothing more to do.
Please remind me how the Right weaponized things?
We move on now to investigations, prosecutions, convictions, and incarcerations.
This must NEVER happen again. NEVER!
The Left launched a coup attempt. We merely tried to survive it.
Now comes retribution the likes this nation has never seen, and should never see again.
Yes there is. Hang the coup plotters.
Is it true that people who no longer have positions in the government don’t have to testify in Congress hearings? Once they’re gone, they’re immune? Seems that was being thrown around with Page, McCabe, etc., were hitting the pavement.
If that’s true, I want all of them to be technically employed with offices in closets or storage bins (like Milt in Office Space), no computers, and no phones, and then being forced to spill their guts under oath.
Very good observation.
Right. Which is why I disagree with the lets move on argument.

The only people saying that are the ones who are neck deep in the attempted coup.
Ping.
Whoever picked Obama's cabinet knew how the deep-state worked. Its clear to all of us now the DOJ is the highly political, legal brain and nerve-center of the Executive branch. Obama's handlers picked fellow-travelers Holder and Lynch as AG. They even made sure his AGs were black, for an extra level of loyalty. I don't know how Trump overlooked this fact when he appointed Sessions (or Sessions betrayed him very badly), but Trump nearly didn't survive being exposed to a corrupt and out-of-control DOJ bureaucracy.
Screw the notion that the DOJ/FBI are "quiet professionals" and non-political bureaucrats doing the long-term work of American justice and crime-fighting.
Their entire top layers must be fired with every new administration.
He along with a bunch of others..President Trump should have cleaned house back then, firing EVERYONE who even looked at Obama, that would have been the best thing to do, would have prevented a lot of the garbage that has occurred til now
Unfortunately for him, he was a coward when faced with an intentional coup attempt, wrongful prosecution and political prosecution. He allowed it to continue and did nothing to expose it.
To each there comes in their lifetime a special moment when they are figuratively tapped on the shoulder and offered the chance to do a very special thing, unique to them and fitted to their talents. What a tragedy if that moment finds them unprepared or unqualified for that which could have been their finest hour.
Sir Winston Churchill
He got flipped and he is being allowed to slither out the back door.
rovenstinez..... Rosenstein
Hmmmm
two years in which he tried to steady a rocky Justice Department
Wrong. Two in which he tried to remove a duly elected POTUS. He should leave handcuffed and on his way to jail.
