As Tuesday marked a day of mourning in Sri Lanka, a mass funeral took place for 30 victims of the devastating Easter Sunday terror attack that left more than 300 dead and 500 injured. The stories behind some of the lives lost are now being shared. Mothers wailing next to baby coffins. A woman, now a widow, grappling with being alone. Entire families being buried together. With headlines talking of the deadly massacre and ISIS now claiming attack, it’s easy to lose sight of the names and faces that were killed on Easter Sunday. Here’s a glimpse into some of the beautiful lives so tragically taken:
At a funeral in Colombo Tuesday, hundreds came to pay their respects to a slain mother and her three children, ages 13, 11 and 7. The four bodies were each wrapped in white cotton with their faces exposed. Rosaries and flowers were placed in their hands. All three children were in line to receive their First Communion when a bomb changed everything. ..
Out of the more than 300 lives taken on Easter Sunday, more than 50 of them were children. ..
With hundreds dead and more injured, we have not learned every story to be told about the lives lost on Easter Sunday in Sri Lanka. We have also not heard anything about the priests, the shepherds inside the churches celebrating Mass as hundreds gathered to celebrate the Resurrection of our Lord. We pray in a special way for them, and all of those affected by these gruesome acts of terrorism. May the Lord comfort and console each soul.

THEY’RE NOT SLEEPING!!!!!!!!!

No marriage. No kids. No career dreams. ALL GONE!!
Another image, along with the Armenian crucifixions, that will never leave my head, this one is.
Hard to fight back tears on this one.
"...Christians in Sri Lanka..."
Stories about Sri Lanka are already getting scarce on the Big media channels even though the death toll is 359.
The New Zealand story went on for weeks.
I’m sure its just a coincidence /s
I said that when it happened.
Disgusting.
I wonder when the Christian world will learn? I used to travel to India and parts of SE Asia (more India) and the Hindus there (and Buddhists in Myanmar) are all-out against Islam. They recognize it as an existential threat.
Christianity needs to do the same
The western Christian world has been infested with leftist ideas and the schools and media certainly haven’t helped.
And our religion by its very nature is a peaceful one.
But this time peace will not work.
And this event where muslims murdered christians has already been white washed from the leftist media. No country is changing their laws to outlaw islam like New Zealand immediately moved to change their laws.
Leftists are terrible people.
JoMa
Everyone by now has figured the left’s “protect the oppressed muslim at all cost” attitude but it could also be the frequency and rarity of the incidents, business as usual for islamists vs very rare someone does that to a mosque.
Those who are upset in this country about this country and our president are siding with those who hate them more.
There have been a number of Christian, Jewish, Hindu and Buddhist Genocides. Has Islam ever experienced one?
People worshiped the dragon because he had given authority to the beast, and they also worshiped the beast and asked, “Who is like the beast? Who can wage war against it?”
Christianity needs to do the same
But Buddhists and Hindus probably are not mandated to love their enemies and turn the other cheek.
