U.S. House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler on Monday subpoenaed former White House counsel Don McGahn to testify before the panel in its investigation of possible obstruction of justice by President Donald Trump.

In a statement, Nadler said the committee had asked for documents from McGahn by May 7 and for him to testify on May 21. Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s report said Trump asked McGahn to fire Mueller.

“Mr. McGahn is a critical witness to many of the alleged instances of obstruction of justice and other misconduct described in the Mueller report,” Nadler said.

An attorney for McGahn was not immediately available for comment.

How much of this crap can one man take? There is nobody that I know could takes a sh*t forever. I guess that’s their plan. I keep asking myself how do I really fight back. How do I really make a difference. Coming here and writing a few sentences is not doing for me. They are trying to take away our vote. We won the last election fair and square and Hillary cheated. We can not be push around by people who need help putting their pants on.

What we’re talking about now is separation of powers. White House Council doesn’t testify about presidential conversations to Congress.

It doesn't really matter what Trump SAID.

The only thing that matters is what he DID.

The president nor McGahn took any overt action to fire Mueller. Trump didn't fire Mueller. McGahn resigned without doing anything. Where's the obstruction?

Words aren't obstruction. Actions are.

This going nowhere.

I don't know if McGahn will comply with the subpoena or testify at all.

But this guy is a Deep State critter, not a Trump loyalist. He doesn't like Trump.

So figuring that he's a lawyer and doesn't like Trump, my guess is that he will comply and he will testify.

But don't expect him to clam shut with the 5th Amendment.

Again, that's what we want him to do but it is not what he will do.

According to the Mueller report, Trump directed McGahn in June 2017 to tell the Justice Department’s No. 2 official, Rod Rosenstein, that Mueller had conflicts of interest and must be removed. McGahn did not carry out the order.

Mueller did have conflicts of interest, as did most all the top officials involved the the witch hunt. Having past, close personal and/or professional relationships with key witnesses, or potentials targets of an investigation is a clear conflict of interest,

Neither Rosenweasel nor Mueller should even have accepted the roles they had in the witch hunt. Should have been handled by experienced, DOJ prosecutors who'd spent their careers working in individual states rather in the DC swamp.

And the President can say:

” I just don’t remember it that way. Sorry”

Yes, but the Dims are on a fishing expedition. Point out the testimony to the Special Counsel and deny them any further fishing.

My own personal feeling here is that ANYONE who's called to testify before Congress or any Congressional committee would be well served to simply refuse to answer any question citing the Fifth Amendment.

This is another witch hunt. Any statement that isn't verbatim to a previous statement or any answer to any question that isn't verbatim would in this Congress' eyes be lying to Congress and subject to perjury / imprisonment.

That's exactly why I say any answer beyond "what is your name?" should be met with a citation of the Fifth Amendment and leave it at that. Say nothing else to protect one's self from being subject to a Perjury Trap.

Again, just my own personal belief / feeling here.

Well, I agree.

All I was saying was that McGahn has already made public statements about resigning over Trump asking him to fire Mueller.

This leads me to believe that he won't plead the 5th. He will tell the democRAT harpies what they want to know about his interaction with Trump.
