He wants to become the new "Maverick" and go to guy every time the MSM wants a GOPer to criticize Trump......You're right, he wants to run again and knows he can't without help from the media.
In 2016 Mitt convinced me to drop the GOP. It was February and I had the flu but after Mitt’s words, I pulled myself out of bed, crawled across broken glass and voted for Trump in the primary. Then I withdraw from the GOP. No regrets. Thanks for reinforcing my decision, Mitty. You can have the party of “honorable” losers.
There’s a guy named David Beau who posted this reply to Senator Mitt Romney’s Facebook post about this. It’s great:
“Wait till they start investigating the Hillary/Obama team. You’ll be much more “sickened at the extent and pervasiveness of dishonesty and misdirection by individuals in the highest office of the land, including the President.” You’ll be “also appalled that, among other things, fellow citizens working in a campaign for president welcomed help from Russia—including information that had been illegally obtained; that none of them acted to inform American law enforcement; and that the campaign chairman was actively promoting Russian interests in Ukraine.” And so far you’ve sat back and done absolutely nothing to show how much Hillary/Obama/Comey “have strayed from the aspirations and principles of the founders.””

When I heard that the horrible Mitt Romney, whose niece is head of the RNC I remind, said those things, I was livid.
Here the special investigator releases a report declaring nothing happened.

What ruined the Huckabee presidential campaign was the pardons he gave to felons in AR who later committed atrocious crimes. The felons used a Christian “conversion” to hoodwink Huckabee.
But Huckabee is surely right about Romney. People in UT should be ashamed.

...and I voted for McCain and Romney...had to, not voting was a vote for Obama. The RINO Republicans put me in that position, they and the media are the real tyranny in our Republic.
Mitt, in his 70’s, still hopes he can run again.
Nope. He fancies himself an elder statesman and spokesman for his church. If he really was going to run again he wouldn’t be insulting Trump and defacto his supporters like this. He would need our votes and clearly he isn’t worried about alienating Trump voters.

The Utah GOP caucus is very conservative. Minion didn’t come close. But it’s the rank and file UT GOP voters who like Minion.
