On Thursday, Paris police investigators said they think an electrical short-circuit most likely caused the fire.

The Parisien newspaper has reported that investigators are considering whether the fire could be linked to a computer glitch or related to temporary elevators used in the renovation that was underway at the time the cathedral caught fire. Chauvet said there were fire alarms throughout the building, which he described as “well protected.”

Charlotte Hubert, president of a group of French architects who specialize in historic monuments, told BFM television that experts plan to spread a custom-made peaked tarpaulin across the cathedral’s roof, with enough space to also shield workers rebuilding the frame.

Perhaps the Russians hacked into the computer to cause the glitch?

French workers were lighting their farts on fire and one had beans for lunch.

There's not a snowball's chance in hell that French authorities would *ever* admit that it was a jihadi attack if it was,in fact, jihadis.

I think that Global Warming caused one of the computer's vacuum tubes to overheat. Those things are very sensitive.

I guess no one is even looking for accelerants...

I’m sure they are. But I have my doubts that they’ll announce they found them if they do. They might deem such an announcement would be too disruptive. It could get very ugly, very quickly if it is found that a muslim set the fire. Innocent muslims (and that would be nearly all muslims in France) would pay the price.

I know, I know, “Why are there any muslims in France?”. Maybe there shouldn’t be, but the fact is there are millions of them and all but a handful (if, in fact it was a muslim who set the fire) had nothing to do with it.

Accelerators are typically found almost immediately after a fire.

“Yet elsewhere it has been said that huge wood beams like that don’t just burn rapidly; they need an accelerant.”

These timbers were 800+ years old. Have you ever seen how fast a 100 year old house can go up?

The rector must be getting his talking points from the FBI, where numerous computer “glitches” caused loss of critical text messages between the antiTrump conspirators.

The Muslims I’ve met have been ordinary human beings who just want to get along with their lives. I’ll grant that much too large a percentage of them—maybe 10% or so—are nuts but that does leave a 90% who might actually go to a mosque a couple of times a year and who are not into the “Death to the infidel” business.

My point is, if you are the French government and you suspect that, in fact, a Muslim deliberately set fire to Notre Dame, do you talk about it now and risk a lot of people getting hurt—people who had nothing to do with it? Or do you wait and see where the evidence leads. As I understand it, investigators still haven’t been allowed to go where the fire started.

There were two fires in different areas.

Electrical computer switch couldn’t cause that in my opinion.
