GOP leaders dead set against Roy Moore in Alabama

Republicans in Washington are dead set against Judge Roy Moore being the party’s Senate nominee in Alabama next year and say they will do whatever is possible to prevent that from happening.

Moore is expected to announce a decision soon on whether to challenge Sen. Doug Jones (D-Ala.), a top Republican target, and a new poll shows him leading a field of possible GOP Senate candidates.

There are no doubt other Alabama conservatives who would be a solid conservative vote every single time without the baggage of loser Roy Moore.

And if such a candidate wins the primary, wonderful! If Roy Moore wins the primary, also wonderful! It's a win-win scenario provided Alabamians don't fall for Kavanaugh'ing again.

I agree -- he's a showboater ... just like Trump, and I actually like that about him. But that does not make him a non-conservative voter. He opposes gay "marriage". He opposes sharia law. He opposes illegal immigration. He stood up to Obama's overreach of authority at a time when other judges were bending over backward to comply. What part of his track record do you actually disagree with? I'm going to guess : "none".

I am under the impression Roy Moore did sue (https://www.cnn.com/2018/04/30/us/roy-moore-political-conspiracy-lawsuit/index.html). Took a lie detector test too.

“I’d much rather get rid of the pervert Roy Moore”

I’d rather get rid of FReepers who side with GOPe, Dems, the homosexual lobby, and Planned Parenthood.

Anyone who takes the word of Moore’s accusers is too dimwitted or willfully ignorant to have anything useful on the subject to contribute to a conservative, family-oriented forum.

Nice try, the difference is he publicly admitted he dated teenagers. I know this fact may be lost on you but closing your eyes and ears yelling lalalala doesn’t make facts just magically disappear. So please take your vitriol elsewhere. Roy Moore admitted that as a grown man he dated teenagers. That admittance makes Roy Moore a pedophile. That admittance makes Roy Moore a creepy socially stunted socially inept creep. Grown men having to date teenagers tells you all there is to know about that “man” so much so that he is unable to relate to adults, converse with them or emotionally connect with them. That is sickening and your defense of pedophiles speaks volumes

“A candidate’s religious preferences should not be the litmus test for the voters. Moore is a kook, who has, as Chief Justice of the AL Supreme Court, been removed for cause twice. He does not belong as Alabama’s Senator.”

He was removed for unlawful and unconstitutional reasons.

And the people of Alabama repeatedly sent him back into office in order to send a message to the tyrants who are pushing the anti-Christian, anti-family agenda on America.

This nation was founded on a non-sectarian faith in the God of the Bible.

The founders strategically brought together various sects and factions of Judeo-Christianity to form a national pact to defend one another and our God-given rights (the first being the freedom of religion) even while we may disagree on the particular details and implementation of our religious duties.

Those who would surrender our first liberty do not deserve the ones that follow.

The GOPe needs to butt out, and Republican politicians should state if they disagree with Moore but always add that it is up to those in Alabama to decide who they want to represent them.

The GOPe wants to make the party a big tent that welcomes everyone, except religious conservatives. They want our vote, but they refuse to represent our interests.

Any grown man that chases teenagers as an adult is a pervert. A sick twisted one at that. Anyone that sides with an admitted teen chaser is too dim witted or willfully ignorant to have anything useful on the subject to contribute to a conservative, family-oriented forum. See how that works? I didn’t think conservatives vigorously defend teen chasing pedophiles. Who knew?

He is a fruitcake.

That would immediately put him in the top 1% of the useless United States Senate.

None of this matters now. The man is a self absorbed, creepy, nut job.

Well suited for a beltway career. You don’t seem to realize your smears of Moore are actually endorsements by beltway standards.

Moore is a looser, but you can get your lips back on his backside if you don’t care about your country! Moore running for the Senate seat again guarantees it stays RAT. It that what you really want?

Mitch McConnell and the Chamber of Crony Capitalists picking our US Senators guarantees the MAGA agenda is never implemented. “Is that what you really want?”

Romney won Alabama by 22 points in 2012. I don’t think a single GOP House candidate got less than 63% of the vote in any of the GOP districts (one guy even ran unopposed). A four-point margin under these circumstances is highly suspect, in my humble opinion.

Mormon Romney would have lost Alabama had Senator Shelby and the GOP establishment viciously undermined him and defacto campaigned for Obama. Guaranteed.

“Anyone that sides with an admitted teen chaser is too dim witted or willfully ignorant to have anything useful on the subject to contribute to a conservative, family-oriented forum. “

Too hard to come up with your own words? What’s next? Nanny, nanny, boo, boo?

“Any grown man that chases teenagers as an adult is a pervert.”

Like Jacob and Rachel?

Like Joseph and Mary?

Dating does not necessarily mean having sex, as the above examples confirm. And Roy Moore always claimed to have treated the girls he dated honorably and respectfully. This has gone on since this nation was a nation. When it started to change is when leftwing feminists spread propaganda to replace Christian morality regarding sex with “consenting adults”. And this entailed making sure that dating outside of one’s immediate age group was considered shameful to polite society. But men AND women instinctively continued to do so. Women are often attracted to the leadership of men who are several years older than they are.

Back in the era when Moore dated younger teenage women, their parents often pushed them to date someone like him as a good catch, hoping they would find a good husband for their daughters.

This is where the “consenting adults” philosophy has brought us. Supposed conservatives side with the homosexual lobby against an honorable man.

“I didn’t think conservatives vigorously defend teen chasing pedophiles.”

Do you think God entrusted His Son to a surrogate father who was a pedophile?

I’ve heard these kinds of rants coming from people who encouraged their own sons to sleep around as teenagers. I’ve heard them from supposed Christians and supposed conservatives who thought late teens and early twenties were too young to be married but also felt that young people SHOULD have sex before getting married.

I’ll stick with what the Bible says, rather than those who side with Planned Parenthood and the homosexual lobby in maligning a conservative Christian man with a track record and calling him a “pedophile”.

God hates slander. He hates lying tongues and bearing false witness. It’s pretty nasty accusation to make—calling someone a pedophile without evidence. May God render to such people according to their deeds.

Just remember if you get falsely branded a “pedophile” and God sees that your accusations against Moore are incorrect and unfounded, then you deserve to be treated as you’ve treated him, an innocent man. Guess what? You aren’t going to enjoy being branded a pedophile, even if you protest and defend your complete innocence, because a lot of people will simply assume your guilt, just like you’ve done.

You’re seriously going to invoke the Bible as the justification and basis for Moore’s admitted activities? A time in which a woman not to have been found a virgin on her wedding day was punishable by death? Or better yet rebellion or cursing one’s parents also punishable by death? But I digress because Roy Moore was never in a court of law. His actions during the late 70s when the age of consent was 16 (yes a court of law determined a child is not mentally capable of consenting until the age of 16) are tantamount to yes pedophilia. He admits to dating teenagers during this time, not me. I still question if even a 16 year old child even has the mental capacity to consent for any person let alone a man in power. What makes it even more disgusting are the parents of these children looking to set their daughters up into an “arrangement” that benefits the CHILD as no longer a burden on the family but another adult who can have his way with her as he sees fit. During the 30s, 40s, 50s and even before these most certainly led to mental and physically abusive “arrangements.”

Furthermore, he was said to not only date 16 year old women but even as young as 14 and 15. Was he tried in a court of law for me to determine his guilt? No but neither has Smollett. Why do I think he did? Because his public rebuttal to these accusations was PATHETIC, insincere and he might as well had said yes I did because, “not generally no” is an admittance to the fact that you did “date” teenage girls.

You may dislike the laws as it pertains to “consent” but they are there to protect young kids from sickos such as Roy Moore who think it is ok as a 31 year old adult to troll around High School football games looking for his next potential obedient wife. However you feel about the laws or why they were adopted (not being a bible major) I do believe there is something in there pertaining to following, “Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God. Therefore whoever resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment.”

The governing authorities have determined teenage love is bad and I agree with them.

Mitch McConnell and the Chamber of Crony Capitalists picking our US Senators guarantees the MAGA agenda is never implemented.

That's EXACTLY why they supported the corrupt swamper Luther Strange, first over Mo Brooks and then over Roy Moore. Once Moore became the candidate, they supported Jones.

Your point is valid, but I'm comparing Romney's performance in 2012 to Moore's performance in the same 2012 election -- not 2017.

A dominionnist is different from someone who believes in the supremacy of the word of God. The Hebrew midwives “feared God” and refused to implement Pharoah’s “man made law” to kill the male Hebrew children. Would that have made Christians “dominionists’ if such laws existed to day and we refused to go along with them? Would that make Christians unfit for office?

A Dominionist believes that Christianity in the main is the “replacement Israel” that will eventually crowd out and replace all religious and secular ordinances, much like how islamists also believe that Islam will do the same. Dominionism is not supported by scripture but Christians are adjured to live by the principles of scripture and by the example of Jesus Christ and to sometimes die for those truths when they clash with secular priorities(as in historical Rome and the persecutions).

Messiah will rule out of Jerusalem someday...not dominionism but that will be on God’s timetable and all people will be subject to his rule.

Your argument does point out the tenuous position even Christians find themselves under our constitution when living for the truth starts to be viewed as “unconstitutional” to do so such as holding an antithetical view towards homosexuality and any hetero-sex outside of the confines of marriage. Memorial crosses are challenged in the courts. Christian bakers and florists are sued for their positions. Senator Booker attempted to apply a religious test to a female federal judge candidate as she was religiously Catholic.

The founding fathers said that the constitution was made for a people who held in the main a religious Judeo-Christian consensus and when that consensus is lost, then the constitution would hold no value for evil men(and women as well, it appears) given over to tyrannical passions.

We will wish for the “man on a white horse” if only to restore order even order enforced by a predictable tyranny.(for example...in Russia, a poll came out which showed a majority of Russians supporting the memory of Stalin, given the chaos and corruption rampant in their country presently)
