Earlier this week, Fox 2 KTVU reported that SFO is experiencing a recent “surge” of homeless people taking refuge in the busy airport; many are said to arrive in the middle of the night via BART trains south from the city, as per the San Francisco Chronicle.
“I mean, there’s just nowhere else for people to go,” Freidenbach told KTVU. “So, we’re going to see them at the airport, we’re going to see them on the busses we’re going to see them out. There’s just literally nowhere else for people to go.”
Though the exact impact of the critical homelessness situation on San Francisco’s billion-dollar tourism profits remain unclear, things are reportedly not looking good. In June, a major medical association withdrew from hosting its annual convention in San Francisco, claiming its members no longer felt safe there. The cancellation of that one five-day trade show represented a loss of $40 million to the local economy.

Just wait until they discover all the “free” stuff on the domestic flight baggage claim carousels which are not inside security.
...and they wonder why voters oppose mass transit coming into their suburb....

Put out the word that if detained on airport property, they will be remanded to the custody of a state mental hospital for a 60 day evaluation period and I'll bet they will suddenly find somewhere else to go.
You’d need to have some of those billions to fight off the legions of gov-co agents of confiscation but a fight well worth it.
Isn’t this part of why TSA was formed to fight against?
And a routine high-power hose down of the runways and adjacent areas wouldn’t hurt either.
Yep - and until you have smelled a really ripe one, you have no idea of how bad it is....carried on on a ‘mission of mercy’ in a new Camry some years ago....after several heavy duty cleanings and “fumigation”, still got occasional whiffs up to a year later...
