Former Alabama Supreme Court Chief Justice Roy Moore leads the field of potential Republicans vying for the chance to challenge Sen. Doug Jones (D), a year and a half after Moore lost what was supposed to be an easy election in a deep-red state.
A new poll shows Moore leading a still-evolving field of Alabama Republicans competing for the nomination. He is the top choice of 27 percent of Alabama Republican voters, according to the Mason-Dixon Polling & Strategy Inc. survey.
The states three Republican members of Congress finish well behind Moore: Rep. Mo Brooks would take 18 percent, Rep. Bradley Byrne clocks in at 13 percent and Rep. Gary Palmer would take 11 percent.

Roy Moore is a loser who lost a safe Republican Senate seat.
His persistence in not recognizing that he has been publicly disemboweled is sucking the oxygen out the bid to regain the lost Senate seat.
He's not going to "get his good name back" when he's being called a "child molester" on Twitter and Facebook without repercussions whenever his name comes up.
Scoring one goal for the other team can be excused.
Scoring more than one goal for the other team at some point makes you a member of the other team...
Seriously, Alabama...
...can we NOT???
Mo Brooks is a SOLID conservative. Good guy. Would make an excellent Senator.
Mo Brooks is a SOLID conservative. Good guy. Would make an excellent Senator.
Good point.
Graham is a traitor who wants to turn the USA into North Mexico and give the Democrats a permanent majority with amnesty for illegal aliens.
There is still some number of Republicans who will not vote for Moore. It's a guess as to how many there might be, but there are several percentage who will not vote for him, and there are Republicans all around the US who will not vote if they disagree with a Republican candidate on an issue critical to them. Not many Dims are like that.
Maybe Moore will stay out of this one, and if not, with far more voters coming out than in that special election, his chances of screwing things up should be much less.
His dating life as a younger man won’t go away. He’s a fine judge, and should stick to law.
“Considering that you have all the ‘smart’ voters locked in out there in California, we just can’t compete./s”
We know at present, California is a lost cause for us conservatives, but why does Alabama have to follow suit? Moore makes no sense as a Senator, less than as a Justice of the Alabama Supreme Court, which, if I recall he was kicked off of twice. Even after being kicked off the first time the local ,”Sunday snake handlers” voted him back into that high office and allowed him to get himself kicked off again.
Moore’s lawsuit proved election fraud but the crooked judge threw it out. How are they going to deal with that this time?
It was Fake News. He also had the entire Democrat GOP Establishment against him with light help from Trump. Its time to take the win against the Establishment and get Moore Elected making a point that Fake News cant win.
“He has a pretty good history of being right on many issues and has paid a personal/political cost for standing up for what is right. That he is still in the battle speaks highly of his character and willingness to fight.”
Yeah, and he’s also real good at getting himself removed from the Alabama Supreme Court twice for tilting at windmills over the Ten Commandments. Sometimes “standing up for what is right” twice, turns out to just be stupid. If I remember correctly he was removed because he violated SCOTUS rulings on same-sex marriage. So he does’t believe in the rule of law, only the rule of law as he sees it. So that makes him no better that the average RAT politician.
Exactly.
He also had the entire Democrat GOP Establishment against him with light help from Trump.
Correct.
Its time to take the win against the Establishment and get Moore Elected making a point that Fake News cant win.
You shouldn't post about politics in public. ;-)
'Moore attended West Point and served as a company commander in the Military Police Corps during the Vietnam War. After graduating from the University of Alabama Law School, he joined the Etowah County district attorney's office, serving as an assistant district attorney from 1977 to 1982. In 1992 he was appointed as a circuit judge by Governor Guy Hunt to fill a vacancy, and elected to the position at the end of the term. In 2001 Moore was elected to the position of Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Alabama. Moore was removed from his position in November 2003 by the Alabama Court of the Judiciary for refusing a federal court's order to remove a marble monument of the Ten Commandments that he had placed in the rotunda of the Alabama Judicial Building. Moore sought the Republican nomination for the governorship of Alabama in 2006 and 2010, but lost in the primaries. Moore was again elected Chief Justice in 2013, but was suspended in May 2016, for defying a U.S. Supreme Court decision about same-sex marriage.'
Huge mistake.
Go ROY.Totally screwed by Rino propagandist afraid of a real conservative and Christian, Roy Moores seat was stolen in Montgomery county by more votes than voters after lies and false accusation worse than the lies and accusations that attacked Justice Kavanaugh but Judge Moore is back and in the lead and HE WILL DEFEAT THAT nameless democrat and be the new US senator for ALABAMA!!
Amen, brother! Where are all of those women now? Where are the lawsuits? Compare Moore to Kavanaugh if you don’t think dems are capable of this type of thing.
Sometimes, I can’t believe some freepers.
Roy Moore, Jeff Sessions, Luther Strange and Bradley Byrne can go pound sand.
Unfortunately, as others have indicated, Mo is not well known in the lower half of the state.
Doubly unfortunately, the younger white voters cannot be counted on to vote conservative. Cultural Marxism has infected our education system.
Wasn’t Moore the RINOs designated loser?
There are SIX Republican members of the US House of Representatives from Alabama.
They left out Robert Alderholt, Martha Roby (my Rep) and Mike Rogers (my favorite of all six).
Ska-rew you, bubba.
Actually, the farther North the more hillbilly, the father South, the more plantation owner descendant.
I love all Alabamans, you dufus.
