I think if you staked out the position that no federal money can be spent on non-documented aliens, started arresting American bosses who hire the illegals, and took an active position on sanctuary cities...it would be a major step forward. The Wall is simply one of dozens of things which will have to be done to remedy the situation.
One additional law which they might think about...no citizenship or visa will be extended to any illegal who has registered himself/herself to vote. They would have to leave the country for a decade, and apply only after that period has ended.
I prefer the Eisenhower model.

They’re not that smart. And their sponsors won’t let them.
Obviously the GOP could have passed any law they wanted when they had a majority in both houses Jan 2017-Jan 2019. But they did nothing. Because regardless of what they pretend to want now, in reality they want our borders WIDE OPEN.
Any legislation they try to introduce now is just “border theater” because they know the dems in the house will not support it.

1) southern barrier;
2) require eVerify to hire;
3) end all chain migration;
4) birthright per Minor v. Happersett (plural parents);
5) end work visas;
6) 10-year moratorium on all new applications for citizenship (40 years to allow workplace automation effects on downsizing population)
7) demonstrate English proficiency to acquire citizenship

The Democrats look so bad on this crises. Do they think they have support ? They are going to lose the house too in 2020. Trump is just kicking their ass on this crisis.

As I wrote in the other thread, Lindsey didn’t bother to do this when republicans held both houses. The game is to fool us.
Watch for hidden “Gramnesty”. Lindsey is relatively new at the actual conservative thing. Always welcome, never trusted given his past.
