According to actuarial tables maintained by the Social Security Administration, the life expectancy of a 70 year-old man is 14.30 years -- enough time to serve two terms and move on to physical decline. The life expectancy of a 78 year-old man is 9.33 years -- enough to last two terms and not a lot more. The life expectancy of a 79 year-old man is 8.77 years -- barely enough to make it out of the White House.
Of course, each man might live to 100. None of us knows. But given their age, the issue is more than just whether each candidate might be a voice from the past, or out of touch with the today's concerns. The issue is whether they are simply too old to handle the rigors of the presidency.

My two brain surgeries left a mark: they saved my life and brought me improved health.
Biden and Sanders will never get the nomination. They are just the diversion the DemonCRAPs will use to spin our wheels and waste our energy. It is enough trouble just to scrap them off the bottom of our shoes.
And the rest in the clown car are too stupid.
Nobody at 79 is cardio ischemia free
and Pres. DJTrump @ 74.5 on inauguration day is way younger...
But *they* don’t know that. Democrats think *anyone* (even Hitler) would make a better candidate than Trump so they’ll rally behind anybody whom they think can beat him. Dems would be all onboard to elect Satan if they believed he could win an election over Trump. Even a child molester (oh wait, they might just nominate one...).
That line, at a debate, totally nuked all the “Reagan is too old” garbage the media was spewing. Mondale, himself, cracked up laughing over it. Excellently timed.
He doesn’t have dementia. He has, however had multiple brain surgeries.

May be; but, half the population is above, and half below, the median for heart health.
The more info you have about the individuals, the more accurate the estimates. The differences can be years, or decades even.
I remember watching the last debate between Reagan and Mondale, which I think was very shortly before the election. At the very end of the end of the debate, Mr. Mondale looked directly into the camera and said that if he was elected, he would try to always do what was best for this country. I believed him, I suddenly thought he was a totally sincere and honorable man, and things would be okay if he was elected. I voted for President Reagan but I did feel that Mondale loved this country and the ship of state would not capsize if he was elected. I don’t think Mondale would have been nearly as good as Reagan was of course, and I am very glad that Reagan won. But I believe that Vice President Walter Mondale would have been a far far better president than either of those democrat presidents who followed him (Clinton and Obama.)
Trump will have had 4 years of proven ability to be President. He has shown in his 2 years so far that he has the stamina to out work staff/media etc unlike so many previous presidents who had shorter work days and more time away from work.
No chance. Bernie was screwed once and they’ll do it again. Bidet (intentionally misspelled) was only good as an insurance policy.
agree, Bernie is in it for the free stuff to leave the race.
Bob Dole was younger than either Creepy Uncle Joe or Burnout Sanders are right now when he ran for president in 1996. And the libs said then he was too old for the job.
What changed?
I remember that well, just about the only thing I liked about Mondale was how he laughed at that remark even though he was the butt of Reagan’s joke.
Hitlery’s a lush. They’re all three defective and unfit to hold public office.
..so obviously Hillary wants to be the VP for both of their tickets....
