According to actuarial tables maintained by the Social Security Administration, the life expectancy of a 70 year-old man is 14.30 years -- enough time to serve two terms and move on to physical decline. The life expectancy of a 78 year-old man is 9.33 years -- enough to last two terms and not a lot more. The life expectancy of a 79 year-old man is 8.77 years -- barely enough to make it out of the White House.
Of course, each man might live to 100. None of us knows. But given their age, the issue is more than just whether each candidate might be a voice from the past, or out of touch with the today's concerns. The issue is whether they are simply too old to handle the rigors of the presidency.

Biden, will be 78 years old on inauguration day 2021. Sanders will be 79.
Both would be older upon taking office than Ronald Reagan was when he left office after two terms.

I dislike ageism. We can handle an older president. Best would be 50-70 but we could handle younger or older, if they were fit and able to do the job.

It is a very wearing job. This thing goes 24/7 with no letup and no real vacations, and constant stress about when some of thousands of possible shoes will drop. There is always some possible disaster around a corner, that phone call at 3:00am. I have been in that sort of career, though with nowhere near the possible scope of trouble, and I am quite done with it. And I am not even 70, let alone 79.
And age has effects beyond merely reducing stamina.
It was reported about 7 years ago that Biden may have Dementia or experiencing the onset of Dimentia. He has said so many absurd things over the years. Something is not right with him.

If you take a look at a clip of that, you can see Mondale smiling in the background. Mondale was Reagan’s opponent, but he still appreciated the joke. How I miss those days, when Democrats were pretty much normal. A bit to the left, but still decent people.

Biden has had 2 or 3 major brain surgeries. That always leaves a mark. Bernie is consumed by hatred 24/7/365 as are most marxists. That leaves a mark too.
