After a week of heated protests and calls for her resignation, Cook County States Attorney Kim Foxx and African-American leaders condemned Chicagos police union and defended how the prosecutors office addressed an actors alleged hate crime hoax.
Foxx vowed to remain at her post during a Saturday news conference, despite intense controversy sparked in March when her office dropped a 16-count indictment that accused television actor Jussie Smollett of orchestrating a racist and homophobic attack on himself to advance his career.
Foxx declined to address the substance of the case with reporters gathered at the Rev. Jesse Jacksons Rainbow/PUSH Coalition headquarters, though shes faced mounting pressure to specify why Smolletts prosecution was so quickly abandoned.
But U.S. Rep. Bobby Rush, activist JaMal Green, Jackson and a group of other Foxx supporters blamed the citys Fraternal Order of Police for a Monday confrontation over the Smollett case that displayed some of the citys racial and political divisions.

It’s black gang members killing other black gang members.
It’s the jussie type of Chicago justice.
It’s the whole tax and spend shakedown in Chicago
Yeah it’s the democrat way in Chicago.
Turning the city in to one shit hole not worth visiting.
Yeah, i want to go to the Loop, maybe shop there only to get swarmed by 100 black youth on bikes going around assaulting whites.
Isn’t the police chief black?
“Chicago’s police union is ‘the sworn enemy of black people’”
I believe the phrase, “sworn enemy” is overused. When did the union come out and “swear” this?
Maybe this whole Foxx / Smollett / CPD thing will result in turning more Chicago voters (including black police) to pull the lever for Trump.
Why won’t house sell. Real estate market is incredible. When dad died we had 5 offers after 1st open house including some more than asking. I’m in ny.
Same here, in MN. We get blamed for Omar, Franken, Klobuchar, and the rest of the idiots, but the state is bright red, if you get 15 miles outside of Mpls/St.Paul, Duluth and Rochester.
I notice that Jamal Green’s comment, referring to the Chiefs criticizing Foxx as the “Blue Klu Klux Klan”, is not getting much press...
Rush is projecting the reality of black Chicago people hating police.
This is in spite of the fact that in recent press conference photos, there was one white cop official and one woman cop official. Both were tokens compared to the 8 or 10 black cop officials.
Why wont house sell. Real estate market is incredible.
The house was built in 1972 and requires a ton of work. Its got 5 bedrooms. Its the second largest model built in the neighborhood and there are only 6 of them there. 4 of those have been vacant for over a year.
Its not a desired model for the demographics today. Not many people, especially younger couples, are looking for something that big needing as much work as it does.
The taxes are outrageous, over $10,000 a year. Thats almost $1,000 a month before the actual cost of the house is added. Illinois is losing population every year to the tune of a 20,000 or so. Thats the population of the entire village they live in.
Smaller, newer units are indeed selling well. But older, larger stock isnt. They have paid it off so in theory whatever they get is cash in their pockets. But that requires willing buyers, which they dont have.

10k??? Sounds cheap. Double that here. My parents home was 60 years old cluttered with junk. Took 2 years to empty and do some improvements. Good luck.
10k??? Sounds cheap. Double that here.
I dont know where here is. This is DuPage County in Illinois. Its even worse up in Lake and northwestern Cook County. In Lake property taxes exceed principal and interest costs in a lot of cases. Homes that sold for 3,000,000 10 years ago are fetching half that now.
And almost all of it goes to pay pensions for public sector workers. A lot of villages are teetering right on the edge of Chapter 9. Crains Chicago Business has done several articles on it.
Small to midsize condos in the city are selling like hot cakes for asking prices. Lord only knows why, but its happening. Larger older homes in the burbs arent. And if they are theyve lost value over the last 3 or 4 years.
Its a tough situation with no end in sight. The fiscal situation in Illinois is dire and theres no way out of it. Pension plans cant be touched short of bankruptcy for the cities and villages creaking under the weight of pension costs. Hell the whole damned state is.
The house needs 60 to 70 thousand to rehab it so it would sell. They dont have that cash laying around and neither do we. The entire house needs to be stripped down to the studs and Ill bet most of those need replacing.
Believe me Ive looked into it. Theyre pretty much stuck unless they sell for a rock bottom price to a flipper. And most of those are looking for smaller, cheaper jobs that they can move quickly.
For them the numbers simply dont work.

The completely under-manned CPD is going to let the shit fly in Chicago this summer. Everyone knows it. From the cops themselves to City Hall, the Aldermen, residents, you name it.
I'm glad I don't have to commute there to go to work anymore. It's going to be a war zone pretty much everywhere in the city. Bullets are gonna fly, people are going to get mugged, beaten, robbed, etc.. because there are ZERO REPERCUSSIONS for committing crime in Chicago anymore and Kim "the fix is in" Foxx is to blame for it.
Absolutely true. And everytime Bobby the black panther Rush opens his mouth, he spews anti-white and anti-cop hatred.
Why he never went to jail for the shit he pulled in Chicago in his "youth" is beyond me. What a race-baiting POS he is.
Remind me again how whites think diversity is a great idea?
Thanks Libloather. President Trump might do well to remind everyone that the Obamas are 100 percent behind this condemnation of the CPD, and behind the Smollett fiasco.
There was a wilding in the Loop Saturday night. The cops were completely overwhelmed. Not one word in the vaunted Chicago media.

Can you please share a link to the loop wilding? I did not see that yet.

Not a word on local media.
Not a single word.
