A lawyer for President Trump has bad news for congressional Democrats crusading to release the president’s tax returns.
In a letter Friday, William Consovoy said the IRS is forbidden from divulging tax information without a “legitimate legislative purpose.”He also maintained that doing so would set a “dangerous legal precedent”
This, after House Ways and Means chair Richard Neal petitioned the IRS for six years worth of the president’s tax returns. Consovoy called the move a “transparent effort” to harass a sitting president, simply out of dislike for his politics.
You mean like when klintoon was president and that church criticized him and he made the IRS revoke their tax exempt status?

Naturally, I don’t have the faintest idea of what is in the President’s taxes, but since he’s audited every year, and hasn’t been indicted for tax fraud, I’m going to assume there’s no “there”, there, and that he’s simply refusing to release them because he CAN, and it’s NONE OF THEIR BUSINESS!
Sounds as if he’s egging them on.
He’s sort of daring them to do it, so he and his legal team can pounce and put some folks in prison.
Any people in Congress who accept the documents, would be a party to the crime and present later on in the resulting prison wing filled with crooks.

The 1920’s law letting congress see anyone’s returns is not likely to withstand Constitutional scrutiny. The 4th Amendment will protect the president but nobody is going to jail for asking (or accepting the returns).

None of the problems president Trump is fix are the result of him - the current messed system doesn't have his finger prints on it but yet we are suppose to care a billionaire business man does lots of business?
We do kinda care the uniparty types running this lame crap have run the bill up to a ridiculous amount of trillions
Lets see how much elected uniparty types, overall wealth performed against the debt - that'd be a fun chart aggregate as well as individual. Heck we can put in lines for Trumps weatlh and taxes too so we can see it all together in one graph.

Notice that they have no actual reason (e.g. specific investigation) stated to obtain them. They just want them so they can fish through them. I don't see much chance of this particular request being deemed valid under the law (must have a reason for obtaining them). And the law itself might be tossed on 4th Amendment grounds. It almost looks to me like Neal created his request in a way that would get it tossed.
But what if the IRS releasers them anyway?
Instead of wanting to see a billionaire’s tax returns, we focus on tax returns of Congress Critters who have become millionaires while in office.
Trump should classify his records (like apparently Obama did to everything ever recorded on him), and seal it all up. Use the state secrets act.
The vermin are even nibbling around his banking records to see if they contain copies of tax returns (common to get financing, etc.)
Don’t want to overreact, but must anticipate everything
After seeing how the dossier was used to drive a coup attempt and how the media integrates into organizing the message, framing and volume of coverage.
They will have experts primed and ready to go to blanket MSNBC/CNN - it will be insightful and compelling - it will also be totally bogus
It doesn't seem like they are even trying we know they hate him and us, they know this, they sloppily make up ridiculous BS, get caught, get further enraged we tune them out/laugh at them/hold them in contempt.
