Democratic presidential hopeful Elizabeth Warren on Wednesday proposed jailing executives responsible for massive data breaches.
Citing the colossal Equifax breach that compromised the personal records of nearly 150 million Americans in 2017, the Massachusetts senator recommended imprisonment for CEOs as part of a legislative proposal meant to hold corporations accountable.
Ms. Warrens bill, dubbed the Corporate Executive Accountability Act, calls for expanding existing criminal liability to negligent executives of corporations with more than $1 billion in annual revenue that are found liable for the violation of any civil law if that violation affects the health, safety, finances or personal data of one percent of the American population or one percent of the population of any state.
First-time violators would face up to 12 months in prison under Ms. Warrens bill, and repeat offender would risk up to three years if the proposal succeeds.
Corporations dont make decisions, people do, but for far too long, CEOs of giant corporations that break the law have been able to walk away, while consumers who are harmed are left picking up the pieces, Ms. Warren said in a statement, adding that passage would force executives to responsibly manage their companies, knowing that if they cheat their customers or crash the economy, they could go to jail.

If Warren really wanted to clean up corporations she would go after the do-nothing politically correct hack Boards of Directors.

Go to prison because your company gets hacked?
So now we get to go to prison for things we tried to control but crooks (hackers) got away with it anyway.
Make up millions of FAKE accounts like wells fargo did - prison.
Going to prison for something you tried to prevent but couldn’t. That’s absurd.
They are going SO FAR LEFT it’s out of my field of vision.
Warren isn’t an injun....but she is a fascist.
Be careful what warpaths you start down, Fauxcahontas.
Mr. niteowl77 on Saturday proposed jailing Democratic presidential hopefuls responsible for massive data breaches.
Mr. niteowl77 also suggests jailing of any Democratic presidential hopefuls who don't publicly condemn and demand jailing of other Democratic presidential hopefuls responsible for massive data breaches.
I’ll consider listening to her if she includes prison time for those politicians that leak information too.
I suppose we should start with CONGRESS and their IT Spy from Pakistan and don’t forget FineSwines Chinese Spy....
Excellent! Finally Bezos is exposed to the same kind of Fascism he inflicted on us.
So, CEOs are now responsible for the actions of hackers, many of whom are operating on behalf of hostile governments? And CEOs are now supposed to be security and IT experts? I think Warren is demanding that CEOs be held to impossible standards. In addition, making cybersecurity into a blame game defeats the purpose of bringing multidisciplinary professionals together with a common goal.
Hmmmm.....I guess her campaign is in real trouble. I blame Beto!
Jail time for byotches who claim Indian ancestry to advance economically and academically via special Privilege
The Equifax situation is a glaring one. Non-techie diversity CIO, team of H1-B programmers, and now every American’s credit data is in the hands of the criminal underworld.
If Trump wants to win in all 57 states pray that Warren gets the nomination.
