“NNNOOOOOOO!!!! As a beekeeper I beg you dont do that :_(”
Don’t worry...I loves my honey. And my wife would be desolate if all of her plantings failed to be pollinated.
Now, if I could just get rid of these carpenter bees that want to eat my house.
Vinyl siding....................
Ahhh....carpenter bees. They used to drill through the railings on my front porch. You can try what I did....it may or may not work, but its so cheap, its worth a try. If you have an overhang or roof on a porch...get a brown paper bag. Lunch size bag or a little bigger. Fill it will something light. I stuffed plastic grocery bags in the brown bags. Once full, tie a string around the top and sort of shape the brown bag to look like a wasp nest....then hang it up. I have several of these hanging on my porch....and no more carpenter bees!
Had three nest of them in my eaves in Illinois.
Just after sundown, I taped the holes with painter’s tape (blue stuff), attached a wd40 spray “straw” to a can of raid and poked it through the tape (easier to make the end pointy). Put 1/4 of the can in each hole and walked away.
Never saw them again.
carpenter bees........ spray the hole. Plug the hole
