Support for a southern border wall among conservatives has jumped since President Trump came to office, reaching a new high of 99 percent, according to a new survey.

What’s more, conservative activists demand sweeping immigration reform as part of the border wall strategy.

The survey The Frontier Lab’s Ear to the Ground Listening Project and Citizens for Self-Governance found that support for Trump’s border wall has increased 85 percent since he became president.

Wow, I don’t recall ANYTHING ever before hitting that approval number.

I’m disappointed it isn’t 100%. But not TOO disappointed.

Meanwhile, in other news, liberal support for The Wall dropped to 1%, so harmony in the universe was restored.

I’m trying to figure out how conservative support for the wall would be below 100 percent. What are they calling “conservative” here?

Just a little bit of folk wisdom -

Mending Wall

Robert Frost, 1874 - 1963

Something there is that doesn’t love a wall,
That sends the frozen-ground-swell under it,
And spills the upper boulders in the sun;
And makes gaps even two can pass abreast.
The work of hunters is another thing:
I have come after them and made repair
Where they have left not one stone on a stone,
But they would have the rabbit out of hiding,
To please the yelping dogs. The gaps I mean,
No one has seen them made or heard them made,
But at spring mending-time we find them there.
I let my neighbor know beyond the hill;
And on a day we meet to walk the line
And set the wall between us once again.
We keep the wall between us as we go.
To each the boulders that have fallen to each.
And some are loaves and some so nearly balls
We have to use a spell to make them balance:
‘Stay where you are until our backs are turned!’
We wear our fingers rough with handling them.
Oh, just another kind of outdoor game,
One on a side. It comes to little more:
There where it is we do not need the wall:
He is all pine and I am apple orchard.
My apple trees will never get across
And eat the cones under his pines, I tell him.
He only says, ‘Good fences make good neighbors.’
Spring is the mischief in me, and I wonder
If I could put a notion in his head:
‘Why do they make good neighbors? Isn’t it
Where there are cows? But here there are no cows.
Before I built a wall I’d ask to know
What I was walling in or walling out,
And to whom I was like to give offense.
Something there is that doesn’t love a wall,
That wants it down.’ I could say ‘Elves’ to him,
But it’s not elves exactly, and I’d rather
He said it for himself. I see him there
Bringing a stone grasped firmly by the top
In each hand, like an old-stone savage armed.
He moves in darkness as it seems to me,
Not of woods only and the shade of trees.
He will not go behind his father’s saying,
And he likes having thought of it so well
He says again, ‘Good fences make good neighbors.’

Since at least 1995, I’ve been telling folks that all it would take is a strong leader to explain the need for the wall and ram it through.

I said that folks would be surprised how many Hispanics would be in favor of it, since they worked to come the right way, and they were tired of gangland activity in their neighborhoods.

Here we are 23 years and 20-30 million illegal aliens later.

I’m saying something along the same lines about California. Folks won’t listen, but there is a Conservative message to be told, and nobody is telling it out here.

Hispanics are religious law abiding citizens who want to better future for their kids. They are tired of seeing their kids killed in cold blood.

Blacks don’t either. Who is helping these people, with better plans for the future.

Nobody like high taxation.

Nobody likes gas taxes at the level they are.

Nobody like the oppressive plans the Left is now revealing for Californians.

Who comes here to raise these issues that has a voice that will be heard by all the people?

Crickets.

Until we get serious, California will continue to follow the same path as illegal immigration did.

Bush League Republicans have been lying to us for years and preventing us from securing our country.

Re-elect them at our peril.

I guess the Rats and Mexico haven’t read Robert Frost. Not surprising. They wouldn’t understand what is good and wise. They are all about any method of destroying us.

If support for the border wall is even above 70%, that means independents can’t be close behind. That means this issue has now become radioactive to the Democrats.

Libertarians like to infest gun boards and identify as conservatives on that issue. But they aren't conservative. They aren't really anything, since their ideology is so crackpot nobody takes them seriously. They have neither venue nor standing, so they come here.

Even some liberals support strong border security. Or at least they did until recently.

“I voted numerous times when I was a senator to spend money to build a barrier to try to prevent illegal immigrants from coming in. And I do think you have to control your borders.”

Hillary Clinton, Nov. 9, 2015

Agree with you..many educated Hispanics in California are leaving the State. I speak with them or family members often. You know what that leaves.....
