We CURRENTLY HAVE socialism inside the USA on Indian Reservations.(snip)
Certain tribes were practicing that, way before Marx ,and if examined beside not having a written language may be the reason why those cultures never developed into individual nations when the Europeans landed here.
Some goofball dabbling in Milwaukee does not equate to adopting socialism.
But, as Winston Churchill astutely observed, you can count on the American people to do the right thing. Once they have exhausted all of the alternatives.
I preduct we’ll go socialist simply because it’s an alternative we haven’t tried yet.
Milwaukee... a success? Compared to New York? Los Angeles? Chicago? Dallas?
How about Detroit now? Seattle now? Venezuela? Even in the Great Depression America in its capitalism never ever came close to Venezuela or Russia or Cuba.
Yeah this article is BS
Why?
Maybe someone needs to tell him Time magazine named Adolph Hilter man of the year- twice.
You get a twofer joke bonus:
"You might be a redneck if you marvel at how gas stations get their rest rooms so clean."--Jeff Foxworthy
and
The Odd Couple, (TV series one) Felix to Oscar: "Your bathroom would have been condemned by most gas stations."
“Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery.”
-Winston Churchill
“Despite a voluminous and often fervent literature on “income distribution,” the cold fact is that most income is not distributed: It is earned.”
-Thomas Sowell
“It is easy to be conspicuously ‘compassionate’ if others are being forced to pay the cost.”
-Murray N. Rothbard
“All utopias are dystopias. The term “dystopia” was coined by fools that believed a “utopia” can be functional.”
-A.E. Samaan
“State ownership! It leads only to absurd and monstrous conclusions; state ownership means state monopoly, concentrated in the hands of one party and its adherents, and that state brings only ruin and bankruptcy to all.”
-Benito Mussolini
“The difference between communism and socialism is that under socialism central planning ends with a gun in your face, whereas under communism central planning begins with a gun in your face.”
-Kevin D. Williamson
“Socialism; institutionalized stupidity.”
-R.A. Delmonico
“Romantic utopianism is the opiate of the leftists.”
-Michael Rectenwald
“There is no difference between communism and socialism, except in the means of achieving the same ultimate end: communism proposes to enslave men by force, socialismby vote. It is merely the difference between murder and suicide.”
-Ayn Rand
“Socialist governments traditionally do make a financial mess. They always run out of other peoples money.”
-Margaret Thatcher
Socialism is ALWAYS deemed a success for the first couple of years... but then you run out of other peoples’ money...
I read the whole diatribe and nowhere in that miasma did I find anything vaguely describing the “smashing success” alluded to in the title.
If you wondered why the Dims chose Milwaukee for their 2020 convention site, you needn’t wonder any more.
But capitalism works even (or far) better in such environments...see SOUTH Korea and Japan.
The article cites the election of some ostensibly socialist office holders in the mayor and city council positions in Milwaukee, it then gives some supposed attempts at socialist city efforts such as city built housing for the poor, city grocery stores, etc, without giving any examples of how well they succeed or why they are not thriving today.
The article mentions unsuccessfully socialist Milwaukee trying municipal utilities and transportation, something that seems to have succeeded in many NON-socialist run cities elsewhere. Why did the oh-so-socialist-utopia of Milwaukee fail at these normally ideal monopoly socialist services where they easily fall to socialist claptrap ideas elsewhere?
The article asserts the socialism in Milwaukee was successful, but says nothing about why after a half century of “successful” socialist mayorial rule and policies were such mayors voted out of office? Not a word is written.
Like all stories that begin with a tacit "Once upon a time. . .", such Fairy Tales have an implicit moral to them. This Fairy Tales moral is that "Ignorant Socialists can always pull the wool over their own eyes by telling themselves Fairy Tale lies." The value in reading it is to remind us of who they are.
One hour KOMO TV Special on what progressive Liberals have done to Seattle in the past few years:
That was “gas and water socialism” or “sewer socialism.” The city controlled utilities like water, gas and electricity. It wasn’t whole hog socialism - the real thing.
