If the avocado trade fell off, what would be the downside? Would there even be a downside? Seems that would be a small price to pay for the benefits.

I don’t get that AT ALL. Please explain to me why the President can’t shut down ALL MIGRATION across our southern Border while still allowing Products to proceed thru customs ports?

Because the overwhelming majority of our trade with Mexico crosses the border by truck or train. Shutting down all cross-border traffic shuts that down as well.

It’s not like 18 wheelers and Trains full of produce/materials are swimming across the Rio Grande and sneaking in under the fences through tunnels.

I agree on that. But if that was the only problem then Trump would have dealt with that by now if he was able to. Shutting down the border is, as I understand it, supposed to be a message to Mexico to do more.

Even better!!! Make them here!!!!!!!!

As a solution that would be several years down the road. The auto plants would close now.

Parts come from all over the world, not just Mexico.

Depending on the manufacturer a lot of them come from Mexico. You don't just change your supplier to another country overnight.

I grew up in West Texas and learned that avocado meant testicle and that guacamole means testicle sauce.

I agree. I had a garden plus I grew hybrid tea roses here for 10-12 years. It is not tough to figure out the best tomatoes to grow for where one lives. I always used Park seed and Jackson and Perkins. I trust you know more about bananas as I know zip.

Nonsense.
The pickers already live in the USA.
There are no “Migrants”...they come and STAY.
I sure wish Trump would tell the Chamber to go off themselves.

The Chamber is now at least 50% Obama supporters and has for awhile only been a political arm of the DNC.

I really don’t give a rat’s a** if EVERYTHING that comes from mexico stops. Really. Isn’t the USA’s sovereignty worth something? Only anti-American snowflake losers will complain.

Avos are odd. You store them on the tree. While on the tree they do not ripen. You can store them on the tree all season. Won’t happen since all the car plants in MX and USA and Canada would shut down within a day or so.

What idiot media first picked avocados as a talking point?

OK, I guess they've got us. Gotta just roll over and surrender our Nation - can't have avocados costing too much.

If threatening us with more expensive guacamole is the best the open borders lobby can do to push their agenda, it's fair to say that our side has won this debate by a landslide.
