Let them eat nutella. I remember when we had to let illegals in or we'd starve cause we won't be able to pick our vegetables. Now we have to let illegals in so we can import our vegetables. I suspect the vegetables aren't really the issue here.

Ask not what your avocado can do for you. Ask what you can do for your avocado. /sarc.

Doesn’t global warming mean we now have the same climate Mexico used to? Should be easy to raise them here.

“You couldn’t pick a worse time of year because Mexico supplies virtually 100 percent of the avocados in the U.S. right now,” Steve Barnard, president and chief executive of Mission Produce, told Reuters. “California is just starting and they have a very small crop, but they’re not relevant right now and won’t be for another month or so.”

No problem.

Let’s create policy that eventually makes a net exporter and the biggest competitor Mexico has....

So sad. /s

I think we can survive without Mexican avacados. Aren't they unhealthy anyway?

Avocados would rot quicker than that! I have a tree, this side of the border. From just picked to the table is about six days. The gassed ones from Mexico, if there gassed in Mexico, will rot like a democrat!

Out here, almost all tomatoes sold in supermarkets are from Mexico—even in upscale and health-oriented markets like Sprouts, Mother’s, Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s. So if the Mexican border is closed, they’ll have to get their tomatoes from the good old USA.

Maybe the drug lords and coyotes can start smuggling other things besides dope. This could be a win-win.

Can someone do a bright, uplifting, patriotic remake of “A Day Without A Mexican?”
