RUSH: Victoria Toensing — and she’s not alone — believes that the real center of this effort to get rid of Trump is John Brennan. Grab sound bite 8. We’ll squeeze it in here real quick. She was on Varney & Co. the Fox Business Network. And he said, “Do you believe there was a deep state conspiracy to undermine Trump and overturn the election?”
TOENSING: Oh, absolutely. It started with, of course, the dossier. But they didn’t know how to handle it, so Brennan is the mastermind. Brennan should be behind bars. Then Brennan had to launder it ’cause he couldn’t just dump it over at the FBI so he takes the dossier to Harry Reid who writes a letter to Comey, and bingo, it’s at the FBI. But they couldn’t get mileage, remember? Even the mainstream media wouldn’t bite on it. And McCain, they said, he just took it to the FBI. No, his aide tried to shop it with 12 different media outlets. So here’s how they did it. They had Comey brief President-Elect Trump on just the salacious part. And then, bingo, Clapper, who’s the dumbest of the conspiracy members, told CNN, and CNN broke the story, and that’s how it all came out.
RUSH: That is the short version of the story, but her point is that Brennan is the centerpiece of this, so hold on to that thought ’til we get back.
BREAK TRANSCRIPT
RUSH: John Brennan, folks, I do believe was the centerpiece of this. He was Obama’s CIA director. The most amazing thing, if you go back — and there are montages we put together, any number of people have put together of all the 1,000 percent certitude statements that Trump was going down, that Trump had colluded, that Trump was an agent, that Trump was a puppet, that Trump was under the influence Putin and the KGB.
John Brennan’s saying all of this for at least two years. And even a week before the Mueller report comes out he’s assuring everybody that there are gonna be final indictments of Trump’s family and so forth, and he was saying this with literal certainty.
Now, the question is, was he just making this up? Don’t laugh. Stick with me here. Was he just making this up because he knew what the objective was and he was on the team of people trying to pull it off and he knew what they were gonna do no matter what the evidence said? Or was he being lied to by people who were furnishing him information?
Now, if he was being lied to, ’cause my point is that the special counsel’s office had been leaking like a sieve throughout even though the public has been told that we haven’t heard a word from Mueller, Mueller is the integrity of process, not saying a word, appearing anywhere, blah, blah, blah, blah. People in that office, somebody in there had to be telling Brennan something.
Somebody was lying to John Brennan for two years. Somebody that he trusted. He is the former CIA director, and he got scammed and played by somebody, or a series of somebodies, for at least two years. It’s either that or he never knew anything, was so confident that his team was gonna come up with something to get rid of Trump that he put it out there without knowing for certain what they had or didn’t have.
Which of those two seems the more palatable to you? That somebody that he trusted was lying to him day in and day out and that he believed it. Or, that he was so convinced because he knew everybody on this intel team that was looking for different on Trump, he just knew they were gonna come up with something because he just knows what a rotten guy Trump is because I think Brennan has personal hatred for Trump beyond which we can even imagine.
The point is he could not have been more wrong, and he’s the former CIA director. So was he set up? And by whom? I could go either way on this. I could be made to believe either of the scenarios I offered.
I don’t think he had to pay them much...they were already in her fan club.

My gut tells me there is a layer of evil telling them what to do. Could also be a Matrix Organization with all players sharing in the gains from crime and corruption
He would have sources. CIA is a dark and murky place. His contacts dont end when he retires.

I would love to know all the details. I expect only a very few do know. People we have never heard of. This might be a very deep deep state thing. Politicians and their cronies feel like they have power but don’t. Be funny if some GS-13/14/15 have the real scope but these political types don’t control crap.
I hope the real power believes in liberty, the constitution and the American way. Hope and pray for the divinity of the USA. Is that too much. Probably. But I can hope and pray for it.
That also points to Brennan being duped... Brennan appeared somewhat humbled by the truth.
Why isn't Brennan frightened if he was duped?
Brennan knows who duped him. Seems the people handling him know he won't talk - so he's not in danger? Which means his handlers have stuff on him worse than death?
Makes me wonder if the people handing out 'talking points' to the bimbos at MSNBC, CNN, and the Washington Post were ' in on the game' too... It's all very coordinated.

However, Brennan is almost unanimously remembered and described by fellow workers and subordinates as a real lightweight in the intelligence area.

He has been described as the best example of the Peter Principal the CIA has had in years.
And if one listens to him and watches him closely, it is apparent.
He is just plain damned out of his league and he borders on stupidity.
Obama recognized it and led him around by the nose and I've no doubt that every nefarious situation that Obama was involved in with the CIA has John Brennan's fingerprints on it.
The man is a dumb ass, and I suspect he has just now realized how he has been used.

Brennan was not set up. In many respects his record is anti-American. Considering that Obama appointed him, some think he represents the enemy.
In addition to all of that, we now know that he was the mastermind behind the purging of the words “Islam” and “Jihad” from US law enforcement training materials.

I never saw an episode of Burn Notice - but sure he might have been burned by someone who wanted him to twist in the wind. Was a long con though - took years to play out. AFAIK he was never a “spook” he was a political animal who rose up as a deputy to someone else, eventually defaulting into the #2 spot and then the #1 spot. So I concede the possibility that he made some enemies.
He is a nut. To go on TV again and again to call POTUS a traitor? This is totally unprecedented, outrageous, reckless, dangerous... 1001 adjectives I could use. To call POTUS a traitor is to call for his execution. That’s lunacy. On zero evidence. On *manufactured* evidence. On manufactured evidence Brennan knew was manufactured, foreign sourced, paid for by HRC/DNC, and never verified.
There is a certain irony that the man who was head of CIA, who worked in CIA for a decade or more, who was paid to lie as a part of his profession, who had to be involved in all kinds of dark art around the world would be hired by a news network and put on air to rant, unchallenged, as if he could ever be trusted to tell the truth.
My conspiratorial waters can run pretty deep but I restrain myself from hyperbolic claims. That said, if I ask the question “why were these people so desperate for Hillary to win, Trump to lose, and then to run this intelligence operation against him”? The answer I come up with is that the swamp is a massive gravy train and there is a lot to hide. This whole thing, and all the yelping by Dems, is misdirection.
Information from the intelligence agencies and the press was flowing back and forth in the form of leaks and fake news.
It's all one big cabal.
