Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine, sent a letter to Attorney General Bill Barr on Monday asking that the Department of Justice reverse its course and defend the Affordable Care Act against the Trump administration intent on using courts to bypass Congress on the repeal.

Collins told Barr in the letter that the department's decision not to defend the law "puts at risk not only critical consumer provisions such as those protecting individuals suffering from pre-existing conditions, but also other important provisions of that law, such as the Medicaid expansion, dependent coverage for young adults to age 26, coverage for preventive services, and the regulatory pathway for FDA approval of biosimilars."

Just press on with the repeal and ignore the static.
There was a law call the Defense of Marriage Act passed that was signed by Clinton.
Hussein told his DOJ not to defend it and out the door it went.
Remind her of that.
Rip it out root and branch.
This is SOP for Democrats, The DonaldTM is simply using their tactics.
Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine supports socialism who knew. /s
We have to reject it to see how bad it was
Ignore this chronic complainer. Obamacare was a bait-and-switch from Day 1. It’s free for the freeloaders but costs Middle Class families way too much, and the sky high deductibles render the plans useless.
“One-half of the RINO Twins, activate!”
Roberts will simply not allow this to die.
She’s concerned with her typical female agenda....abortion and contraception.....and could care less about anything else.
What ‘protections’? My ability to pay three times what I used to pay?
The ability to go from spending $6K a year to $18K before it even pays one cent?
Obamacare was the worst piece of crap legislation ever crammed down our throats and should have been declared unconstitutional right from the start.
Where the hell does the government get the right to tell you you HAVE TO by something?
Collins says the “Trump administration [is] intent on using courts to bypass Congress on the repeal.”
To pass Obamacare in the first place, Democrats used every parliamentary trick in the book as well as many bribes to Democrat legislators. Not a single Republican supported it or signed onto it. Nobody read the entire bill and Pelosi said you had to pass it to see what’s in it. Finally, it was “deemed” passed using the reconciliation process like it was never intended. In other words, Democrats bypassed all standard legislative procedures.
Then, when the monstrosity was shown unworkable, Obama unlawfully changed the law himself numerous times without ever going back to Congress.
So NOW she’s worried about Trump “bypassing Congress”? Come on.
Why doesn’t she just change parties and be done with it?
I remember Mark Steyn writing about ten years ago about government take-over of health care. He said once that happens, that government will, from that point to the end of time, do nothing but “debated and fix” what the health care mess that they created. He was (and is) still correct in that assessment. We are doomed to hear about “health care” our entire lives now.
How about defend and uphold the Constitution and get rid of Obamaharm in its entirety instead?
People’s circumstances, even if exceedingly dire, are not delegations of power to the federal to do anything about them.
Those insurance company protections are critical to many upcoming GOPe campaigns. /s
This is why it is important to elect more conservative Republicans, not just to keep the democrats from taking control (like they have in the House), but to dilute any leverage by the RINOs.
>>>intent on using courts to bypass Congress<<<
The DemoncRats use the Courts to bypass The Constitution every minute of every day.
The ACA is indefensible!
Tell her to pound sand, Mr. Barr!
Why is she shocked? Democrat state AGs pull this stuff all the time.
As for Ms. Collins’ vaunted intelligence, she sure has a funny way of showing it.
