The Rev. Al Sharpton portrayed Mayor Rahm Emanuel as a hypocrite Saturday for criticizing Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx’s handling of the Jussie Smollett case when the mayor long was silent on the police murder of Laquan McDonald.

“The reason this is of national significance to me, there is a marked difference between how they reacted to this and how they reacted to the Laquan McDonald case. They were not outraged when the video was withheld until after the mayor’s election,” Sharpton said of Emanuel, police Superintendent Eddie Johnson and other top police officials. “There was a fox in the henhouse then, but the fox wasn’t Kim then. The name of that fox was whoever was in the mayor’s race.”
Emanuel spokesman Matt McGrath said, “This isn’t worthy of a response.”

Interesting that the Obama gang (which includes the Revrun) is going after Emanuel. I posted earlier that I had read a couple of years ago...perhaps even around the time that Emanuel ran for office...that there had been a noticeable cooling between him and the Obamas.
I don’t know what was behind it. Possibly that he wanted to run Chicago for the left, and they thought it was their turf. Chicago politics are complicated, in addition to being corrupt to the bone.

When a city is sued for wrongful death by police, the city's officials as a rule avoid talking about the case. Van Dyke was convicted for second degree murder for killing McDonald and the City of Chicago settled out of court before a suit was filed. There was nothing for Emanuel to say.
Smollets faked a hate crime. The DA's office went to a grand jury, who indicted Smollets on sixteen counts. Foxx then rejected the grand jury's indictments, after texting with a former staffer for Michelle Obama and "recusing" herself from the case. The fact that Foxx rejected a grand jury indictment may end her career.
Sharpton looks like he's trying to help Foxx. The best thing he could have done was not say anything.

What the creepy little twit Smollett did was a potential act of great violence against innocent citizens. Smollett is worse than a thief... worse than a common liar, worse than bully.
May the thug Smollett rot in hell when this life is over...along with his enablers.
