no one was dying. There was not clear and present danger. You trust doctors entirely too much - there are scores of misdiagnosis taking place daily.

You don't understand what are rights are, and because of your ignorance, you invite barbarian lethal force into the family home for the children.

There are bad parents, lots of them. That doesn't take away our parental rights. Just like there are lots of outlaws using guns, that doesn't take away our right to possess guns and defend ourselves.

Take you do gooder statist ways to some liberal board.

Remember the mother only decided not to take the child to the ER when the fever had broken and the child was active. So critically ill did not arise.

Now here is another consideration. Why didn’t the doctor call for an ambulance if she believed the child could have an extremely serious communicable disease? She certainly would have been justified in doing so if meningitis was feared. How worried could she have been if did not take steps to make 100% sure the child was examined by an ER doc and tests run?

In my view, if the doctors thought it was a life threatning situation, she should have put aside her fears and bring him in.

In my view if the fever breaks then the doctor is (as was the case here) totally wrong.

Kids get high fevers fast and they can pass just as fast. The child that you were sure was at death's door is whining at you on the ride to the ER because you passed a McDonald's and did not stop for ice cream. They are SOOOOO hungry.

In the end you have spent hours at the ER, paid out enough money that you had to dip into savings and the doctor told you to go home and give her a baby aspirin.

I see.
You like pretending that this was a no-knock raid because that
makes it sound really awful. Even though it isn’t true at all.

Playing pretend is fun for kids, please enjoy yourself.

You are conflating the doctors experience in anY with exposure that hadn’t existed before the invasion from down south.

Either way, it is caused by lack of vaccinations.

'Zactly.... and I don't think it would be a hard convince to get a judge to sign off on a possible Child Endangerment crime.

Three knocks is pretty close to no-knocks.

Better he should have done twenty-seven knocks.

Well, see, the police state did knock.

However, everything from after seeing the doctor is 100% wrong.

The doctor violated HIPAA laws, and I would sue the hospital and the doctor personally for everything they’ve got.

I’d sue the DCS, and police as well for violating my rights under the US Constitution.

When I was a child, I ran 104F fever all the time - I got tonsillitis several times a year, and actually grew to enjoy the ice baths.

Maybe that’s why I so prefer the cold now that I’m almost 50. Who knows.

Sure - IF.

Problem is that at that particular time, the fever had not broken and the doctor’s opinion was that it was life threatening.

How could anyone have known the whether or not the fever would have subsided, or even worsened to above 105?

I read the child was not vaccinated.

I doubt many doctors would want to have a two year old vaccinated with the meningitis vaccine that should be administered at about 11-12 years old.

She stopped, bought a thermometer and checked. Probably because he felt cooler.

The fever had dropped.

So it had broken. As his temperature dropped so did the reason for taking him to the ER.

I did continue on but I was new at that kind of stuff. A month later I would not have gone on but would have gotten her the ice cream and taken her home, tucked her in bed and got four hours of sleep before work.

Live and learn.

But if the toddler was taken to the ER unnecessarily, what are the likely consequences

Likely a 4 figure ER bill and a lecture on using the ER for non emergent care.

"Three knocks is pretty close to no-knocks."

But not quite the same.

He should have knocked three times on the ceiling if he wanted her.

Twice on the pipes, if the answer is no.

Oh my sweetness.

(tink tink tink) Means he'll meet her in the hallway.

Twice on the pipe (tink tink) means he ain't gonna show.
