The scene looks like something from a middle-of-the-night drug raid. Guns drawn, police officers in tactical vests surround a beige ranch house in a subdivision. With a single decisive kick, one busts down the door. “Come out with your hands up!” an officer yells, as a flashlight’s blinding beams begin sweeping the room.
But police in Chandler, Ariz., weren’t seeking out a trove of illegal narcotics when they showed up at the modest home in the Phoenix suburbs on Feb. 25. Instead, they were searching for a 2-year-old who had come down with a dangerously high fever. The boy’s mother, Sarah Beck, had allegedly ignored doctors’ orders and refused to take him to the emergency room, fearing that she would get in trouble because he wasn’t vaccinated. When officials showed up to do a welfare check hours later, the child’s father refused to let them in, saying that everything was fine and the fever had passed. Eventually, police decided to take matters into their own hands.

Case in point. Toddler comes into ER by ambulance, toddler is filty, diaper dirty/wet, supposedly drank bleach, turns out he probably did not. Mother stuck at ER with no way home 10 pm at night, staff takes her home, as staff is driving away, notices mom is using flashlight, house has no electricity and probably no water judging by filthiness of child. Do you call CPS?
But I do understand it’s not like turning mom into CPS for not immunizing child, just saying there are times when CPS must be called.

It’s because of all the disease that is coming across the border. Measles and mumps are one thing but there is all kinds of other stuff as well. Everyone (except congress) is worried about contagious diseases coming in.

I dont understand why the doctor refused you as a patient. But I also do not understand why you refused a pap smear.

I think we’ve does this and you position is scary and enlightening. I worked in youth corrections for 28 years and i never saw anyone with your cavalier attitude about letting a kid die.
Lastly, 10 years ago a mother in Pomona CA, sliced her kids eyes in the bathtub with a razor blade. If the cops were called, should they have turned around and deferred to a parent’s rights and due process or should they have shot the murdering psycho bitch with razor in her hands about to take another slice and maybe save the kids life. Don’t bother, i already know your answer.
