The city of Chicago is demanding Jussie Smollett pay the overtime costs associated with police investigating the hate crime the “Empire” actor allegedly staged in January.

The Chicago Corporation Counsel sent a letter to Smollett’s attorneys Thursday asking him to pay $130,106.15 within a week, threatening a new charge if he doesn’t agree to do so in a “timely” manner.

LOL! Yeah, okay or what? Drop some more charges against him/her/them/they? Hasn't 'juicy' suffered enough? We have.

It’s a checkmate IF Rahm follows through. He can sue Juicy and the preponderance to hold him accountable is less in civil court.

Ask OJ

$130k for overtime won’t cover it. And the straight time?

The $10,000 bond forfeit and “community service” served preemptively hardly seem to count, in the larger scheme of things.

If it is not enough to cause real pain, it is not enough. Otherwise, the contrition rings a little hollow.

What they should go is garnish any wages (although I’m sure he will never work a real job) or newfound wealth that is sure to surface.

Guaranteed he has one or two lucrative book deals pending right not. Oprah will surely pay handsomely for an interview or two.

He will be another wealthy community organizer, even after he has paid Cory Booker and Kamala Harris for getting him off.

So, is he innocent or is he guilty of something?

If he’s innocent why isn’t he getting his bail money back and then just forget about the whole thing?

If he’s guilty when was the trial? I missed it.

Sounds to me like they’re just making him pay protection money.

I’m thinking Rahm just jumped on the bandwagon merely to control the situation. He’s making sure that whatever they are trying to bury never sees the light of day.

btw, it won’t be Rahm who follows through. This gets dumped on the next person ..one of which who is buddies with Foxx.

So could be a move by Rahm to make him look tough as he goes after Durbin’s job.

Could be. His successor is the one that has to move it forward.

He could have also lobbed a grenade at her making her look bad if she doesn’t follow through.

The easiest way out for Jus Smellitt is to pay the $130K. He can raise that much in a few hours on Go Fund Me. There are plenty of vile Leftists who will happily contribute so they can “stick it to the Man”

I’m thinking something like that too, Rahm is a calculating evil SOB. A Rat to the core so trust nothing he does.

Jussie’s problem is in not knowing when to shut his piehole. He was looking a gift horse in the mouth with the corrupt DA looking to advance her political career by dismissing the charges. But no, he had to run his mouth absurdly protesting his innocence rather than slithering away into the night. He succeeded in waving a red flag and getting the rest of the corrupt Chicago machine angry enough to send him a bill and threaten to sue his racebaiting ass as well as sic the Feds on him thru President Trump

Get used to “restorative justice” when Democrats have power. Remember the non prosecution of the “black panthers” that intimidated voters in Philadelphia on 2008? Today Democratic prosecutors are not only ignoring marijuana and fare evasion crimes but assaults and larcenies. Nor will they investigate predatory homosexual molestations of minors unless Catholic clergy is involved.

It is a pretty safe move for him because he isn’t the one that has to follow through with the lawsuit.

I am not sure Obama counted on the arrogrance of Juicy. This is all blowing up in his face because Juicy wont shut up and is acting like he is innocent.

There was a way to make this go away that would have satisfied most people. It is a real head scratcher about why they screwed it up so badly.

I keep thinking it has to do with something bad like Greg Wings involvement.

OR maybe they are just that incompetent..

these kinds of deals are extremely common.

Remember you are innocent until proven guilty.

So... if you strike a deal with the DA to agree to save the state the time and expense of going to trial if you agree to plead no contest and pay a small fine or do some community service and in return your record will be wiped clean on the matter.

This is what happens every time you get a ticket and are allowed to take defensive driving and have the charges dropped. Were you technically guilty, yes. But as far and the law and state are concerned you are innocent.

What happened here isn’t common at all.

See the statement from Illinois Prosecutors Bar .

There was a way to do it that would have held up to scrutiny that IS common.

This isn’t it.

Read this so you can understand why this isn’t common and should not have happened
