Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) blocked a resolution calling for special counsel Robert Mueller's report to be made public, arguing that Congress should also call for the release of communications and testimony from Obama-era officials.
Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.), who is one of several Democratic senators running for president, tried to get unanimous consent for the Senate to pass the resolution, which cleared the House in a 420-0 vote earlier this month.

Sometimes these arcane rules of the Senate work in our favor, sometimes not.
Notice that Rand Paul was the fourth Republican Senator to block the release until Democrats agree to terms.
You want something bad enough, you have to be willing to pay.
Where are all the Paul bashers at now. Just because Paul deviates on an issue doesn’t mean he should be primaried. Hell, if the entire Senate consisted of Pauls we wouldn’t have none of the problems we’re having now.
Not true at all.
Paul is a gadfly
Paul is the master of the meaningless gesture.
He's right.
“We based this investigation on a lie, we should investigate who the liars were.”
I disagree to the extent that stopping this partisan resolution is merited for exactly the reasons Paul, Graham and McConnell have all stated. (I am lukewarm on each of these Senators, for entirely different reasons.)
He is not shy about doing the same blockage to us, if it gets him some ink.
I give him credit for his present action; however, the good Citizens of the great state of Kentucky, as well as the GOP members of the House can do much, much better.
Rand Paul is better than 75% of other republican senators when examined strictly by a standard of who is and who is not in the pockets of their mega donors. Which simply means talking conservative before elections, and then voting per instructions from their mega donors.
“What we need to discover and we do not yet know: Was President Obama involved?”
We need more of this .
To understand this... you must first need to have more than two brain cells to rub together.
That would mean drawing a little blood from the opposition whenever possible, even if it requires taking unpopular stands every once in awhile.
There should be no question that the Mueller report will eventually be released to the public, at least in part. The Dems are, of course, expecting it will have some incriminating paragraphs they can use against Trump.
That's not very likely.
What it may contain is information that will give former Obama administration officials the chills.
Why would the Dems want that kind of exposure?
On what? He's rock solid pro-life and rock solid 2nd Amendment. Those two things go a long way with me.
Yep. I’ll trust someone who stands by thier convictions even when they are inconvenient more than those who say what i want to hear when it’s in thier interest
I think it's unlikely that Mueller would want to investigate crimes committed in the Dem (and maybe RINO in part) coup. Somebody probably would have to start a new investigation. But what do I know. Maybe Mueller's people accidentally found something and didn't shred it.
He CANNOT be bought, not even by Trump yet he will block for him. He always stands on principle. This begs for respect.
If it were not for him stealth peeing in a cup for 12 hours we would have government drones outside our windows... lol
Absolutely... As I do...
LOL
I hear you! I don’t always like what he says or does but he’s a Constitutionalist and that’s a very small club in Foggy Bottom.
And so is his father, who had a legislative record about on the level equal to Bernie Sanders. Gadfly is an apt description!
It isn’t just one issue Rand Paul deviates from.
He didn’t even vote for the President’s AG, Bill Barr.
Kentucky can do better.
Where are all the Paul bashers at now.
