Maybe it’s now time for a new ‘minute men’ movement.

I was active in it the first year or so. It became too organized and taken over by career politicians and activists. It lost the people’s militia feel.

The idea of Sons of Liberty is more to my liking.

The TEA party (taxed enought already) was used as a vehicle by conservatives, but was hardly conservative. It focused on purely fiscal issues, ignoring the critical social questions of the day, often with derision.

You cannot have true conservatism by dividing the baby.

“I was active in it the first year or so. It became too organized and taken over by career politicians and activists. It lost the people’s militia feel.”

Exactly! Politicians need to have fear of the people forced into their dark little hearts. That’s never going to happen just by having people attend rallies on the weekends and everyone picking up their trash (not that I’m suggesting we start littering) and going back to work by Monday morning. Which is, ultimately, how the tea party ended up, because it was too easy for it to be co-opted by anyone willing to say the all the right things, irregardless of whether they actually mean any of it.
, but anything we do needs to be at a bare minimum, at least as disruptive to “business as usual” as Trump has been. In anything we do in the future, we need to be a constant source of disruption to our political “leaders,” not a temporary source of inconvenience who can be manipulated into being rendered toothless.

It is TEA Party, not Tea Party.

Tea Party was in Boston centuries ago.

TEA Party is contemporary and nationwide: Taxed Enough Already!

I will agree with you there. I was sympathetic to the TEA Party, and opposed their Federal persecution, but it was a manifestation of the “fiscal conservative” mythology.

You are right: There can be no true conservatism without addressing the social aspects of it.

Rush Limbaugh admits that the “fiscal conservative” RINOs were imploring him to “do something” about the “social conservatives” circa 1992. They hated us then, and still hate us.

Isolated so-called fiscal conservatism is merely selfish greed without morality.

A million of us sang Amazing Grace on the Mall and no one cared. This time they will care. This time they will turn the dogs and fire hoses lose. Antifa will be swinging bike locks in socks. And CNN will tell the world you deserve it, especially after being so cruel to Jussie. Just saying, if you go to DC a second time be prepared because IMHO they won’t just pretend you don’t exist they will make sure of it.

We never went away to begin with.

All we did was put the muskets back on the storage rack... for the time being.
