James Dobson, founder of Focus on the Family and the James Dobson Family Institute, the author of dozens of books on family and adviser to presidents, warns the Democrats’ proposed Equality Act is a really, really bad deal for the nation.
Dobson, on behalf of his James Dobson Family Institute, wrote, “Make no mistake – the so-called Equality Act is nothing but a thinly veiled attempt to finish off religious liberty in America once and for all, which ought to be plainly obvious based upon a cursory reading of the First Amendment.”
The proposal, H.R. 5 and S. 788, would provide special protections for the LGBT community throughout American society. It would state that religious beliefs are not a defense in a dispute between gay rights and constitutionally protected religious rights.
“I wish I could say I was shocked to see the speed with which Speaker Pelosi and House Democrats have brought to committee the sweet sounding but entirely treacherous Equality Act. This decision demonstrates a frightening willingness by those on the left to advance a radical social agenda at a time when our nation already faces so many other divisive challenges,” he said.
“Simply put, by creating a protected class of citizens out of the LGBT community, this bill places Christians who believe in traditional marriage at grave legal and civil jeopardy,” said Dobson.
“While no evangelical Christian would ever support hate or violence of any kind against an LGBT individual – or any other person for that matter – to modify the 1964 Civil Rights Act with this wrong-headed bill would not only be legally fraught, it would also put moral equivalence to the unprecedented, centuries-long struggle of countless millions of African Americans to gain freedom from slavery and the persistent, systematic oppression that followed.”

if this bill goes through, we WILL be becoming EU-like where criticism of islam is a criminal offense, and citing God’s word will be a hate crime-
and you watch- as soon as democrats take the office of president again, and get majority in house or whatever- this bill WILL be enacted- and the sick thing is when Christians start getting arrested for their beliefs and statements in public, the left will falsely proclaim that they are Christian too, but that they can’t tolerate ‘hate crimes’ by ‘other Christians’
Once the Equality Act guarentees equal outcomes, I am hereby the first person to quit working.

While everyone thinks this is going national, the real enforcement is coming at the local level with unelected tribunals persecuting and prosecuting private individuals and businesses for “infractions”.
There is no civil rights charge for them to bring it to the courts (and wage the battle on their own dime) so they are constructing new “courts” without juries.

It would be simpler to say, “Dems target Christians”. That is true all the time.
Just always start with assuming that anything that the Democrats put a title to take the complete opposite and that’s actually what they’re trying to do

First they say abolition of death penalty is because we promise to keep them in prison forever, and instead prisons stack up and we release them
First they say abortion is for medical last resort reasons, but now they want infanticide convenience and atrack you as a medical peovider for refusing to do it
All these people speak for the word of death when a choice between death and life is proposed, and the pundit goes on to say that , if it were all up to them, they would realease all the guantanamo prisoners and put them up for elections or receiving medals of honor in our society.
Yes. One of the really important realizations about the Left is that they choose Death over Life every single time. It’s an evil, sick political ideology. People don’t see it until they see it, but as you note, when your eyes are opened, you realize that the Left is just about Lies and Death.
