Udall says he will not seek reelection in 2020

Sen. Tom Udall (D-N.M.) announced on Monday that he will not seek reelection in 2020, leaving the Senate seat he has held since 2009 up for grabs.

“I’m confident that we could run a strong campaign next year to earn a third term, because of all the work you and I have done together, along with my wife, Jill, and my incredibly dedicated staff," Udall said in a statement.

“But the worst thing anyone in public office can do is believe the office belongs to them, rather than to the people they represent. That’s why I’m announcing today that I won’t be seeking re-election next year.”

Yeah...my “relatives” will be there. Might turn ugly quick.

With NM , I am sure all agree, we can pick up this open Senate seat only if Trump carries that state.

They deserve all the scorn worthy of anyone who would support a criminal fraudster and Communist traitor.

“Sharon Clahchischilliage, a Navajo. ... If she were to win, she’d be the first Native American Senator.”
________________________

You mean the first *female* Native American U.S. Senator. There have been a handful of Native American U.S. Senators, including future VP Charles Curtis and recent Senator Ben Nighthorse Campbell.

Sometimes a couple of years off can do wonders to improve a person’s approval ratings. I wouldn’t count out Susana Martínez as an option for the 2020 Senate race. As for former Lt. Gov. John Sanchez (Raymond Sanchez was the longtime Democrat state rep whom John defeated in 2000), he’s always been über-ambitious, and I don’t think that he passed up running for the governorship or Senate in 2018 due to lack of “fire in the belly”; he probably thought that he would lose. I’m not sure that Sanchez would be our strongest candidate in 2020, but he’s better than nothing.

As for Pearce, not only is he old, he’s likelier to prefer to run to win back his House seat, which he won back in 2014 after the last time that he ran statewide and lost.

I’d like to see a young pissed-off firebrand Patriot take the seat.

Would be a nice counter to that dimwit commie twit from NY and her two moslem domestic terrorist buddies.

True.

But when I say “my relatives” and “get ugly quick” together, that means I end up on the news and live out my days in a prison cell.

Yeah, caught that error. I don’t know why I said Raymond instead of John. Usually I double-check my names.

I think Martinez is out for the foreseeable future for politics. Sanchez was near-invisible during his 8 years as Lt Governor (which is a terrible perch to win the top job from — in fact, so bad that other than for a few individuals who inherited the Governorship due to death, just one person since statehood was able to make the transition via election, and that was Democrat Ezequiel Cabeza De Baca in 1916, and he died only a month and a half into the job).

If Sanchez runs, he’ll be tied to the unpopularity of Martinez, despite the fact that he didn’t hail from her clique of the party.

I don’t think Pearce will run for his old House seat. Given the uncovering of fraud and chicanery that surrounded the election of Xochitl Small, I expect Yvette Herrell will be the nominee again. Small has already pissed off the Stalinist left on a recent GOP motion, and Dems are already talking about primarying her out, despite a solid leftist record.

Although Joe Monahan is a very biased ultraleftist, his blog today cited just two Republicans so far, Sanchez and ABQ real estate developer Steve Maestas. I don’t know much about the latter. The Dems may end up with a free-for-all, which could benefit the GOP if it gets ugly. That helped Pete Domenici in 1972 when he faced a bloodied Jack Daniels (Diane Denish’s father).

It helps to channel it onto someone, if possible.

Oh, I’d “Channel” it all right...

One good, strong, projectile hurl, “channeled” right onto the nearest Lib. A firehose worth of Big Chunky Beef...

Like in the movie “Stand By Me” - a complete, and total Barf-a-rama.

Do you realize how much fun that would be??? Seeing a whole rally full of psychotic libs blowing chunks on each other... all because of one man, in the right place, at the right time, with a weak stomach...

Yeah... “virtue signal” on THIS... RAAAAAALLLLLPHHHH :^)
