H&K used to have an squeeze cocker pistol:
It’s instinctive when under great stress or hurrying for all fingers to contract at the same time.
They found people who’d squeeze the grip to first cock the pistol would often also in error trigger a round when firing wasn’t needed.
Stupid game but if you look at the physiology of it the motion is understandable.
That’s why beginning around 15 years ago or so the great emphasis on “only put your finger on the trigger just before you fire”.

The shock is that a Frenchman even fired a gun.

It’s OK, they’re professionals.

The pair reportedly decided to start playing with their weapons and drew their guns on one another, at which point one went off by
accident negligence.
Play stupid games... win stupid prizes...

Interesting scene in “The Magnificent Seven”. In the first round, there was disagreement about who had actually been fastest. So they had a second round with slightly different rules ...
But the guy who won actually used a knife.

looking for some good cliches here:
1) Play stupid games, win stupid prizes
2) When guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns
3) I didn’t know it was loaded.
4) I identified myself as a police officer before I fired.
5) I thought I had grabbed my Taser
6) I sure hope Al Sharpton doesn’t hear about this.
...
Sorry if I seem to be making light of such a tragedy. But as I think through “Who in their right mind ......” I realize that these people - both of whom were obviously NOT of sound mind - are probably representative of French police officers.

Policewoman threats are useless
without at least one shot of Angie Dickinson.

From the article:
The 27-year-old woman and her 28-year-old colleague were standing guard at the entrance of the Paris police force's headquarters in the capital on Sunday. The pair reportedly decided to start playing with their weapons and drew their guns on one another, at which point one went off by accident.
So, they did this in public?! Imagine walking past the police HQ and seeing two cops playing quick draw.

(The above is not a statement of fact. It is either satire or opinion. Or both.)

Well, at least one of them exited the gene pool.
The other one may not be far behind.

DARWIN Award winner!

Darwin won this one. He missed with the woman taking a selfie in the jaguar enclosure, but he redeemed himself here.

A fast-draw contest with loaded pistols might be dangerous? Who knew?
To: onedoug
With a few exceptions, even Barney knew to keep the round outside his pistol.
