Generation Z has a more positive view of the word "socialism" than previous generations, and along with millennials are more likely to embrace socialistic policies and principles than past generations, according to a new Harris Poll given exclusively to Axios.
Why it matters: The word "socialism" does not carry the same stigma it did in the past, now that it has been resurrected by celebrity politicians like Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Young people's political views often change as they grow older, but their support for socialistic policies is a sign that the old rules of politics are changing fast.
Gen Z and millennials are projected to make up 37% of the electorate in 2020, and what they're looking for in a presidential candidate is shifting.

It took a few decades, but it appears that Khrushchev’s warning before the Polish embassy is coming true.
Can we ship them all to Venezuela?
Theyre also embracing Tide Pods.
They think that upon graduation they should make 100K a year, be given a house, and be running a company. They want instant gratification and feel everything should be handed to them.
Young people are always clueless. Until they get a job.
Generation Tide Pod
Many young Americans are so damn lazy all they want if free stuff. Useless college educated communists.
And then figure out how much of their money is confiscated by their overlords. Most don't even have a clue because they don't even look at the pay stub.
What do you expect after 15-20 yrs of indoctrination?
My mother (worked for FBI in WWII) saw this coming in the 60’s, and I have predicted this since then......as our govt. educational system from top to bottom is a Marxist/atheist brainwashing program, and has been for decades, this is no surprise, but only an inevitable result.
Only a matter of time. So sad that in my children’s time, they are likely to see the USA look like Venezuela today.......
They’ve been indoctrinated. This started back in the 80s when the far-left starting taking over the schools. Rush Limbaugh and others warned about this. Today, over 90% of teachers and professors vote Democratic.
Exactly as their pubic school teachers hoped and dreamed.
The one and only substitute for experience which we have not ourselves had is art, literature. We have been given a miraculous faculty: Despite the differences of language, customs and social structure we are able to communicate life experience from one whole nation to another, to communicate a difficult national experience many decades long which the second of the two has never experienced.
Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn
This started back in the 80s...
Try the 1910s. Look into John Dewey and Pres. Woodrow Wilson.
Then, look into The Frankfurt School from the 1940s, and Columbia U.
Then, look at the 1950s and Sen. Joe McCarthy.
Then, look at the 1960s new communist movement at colleges.
This is really stupid. There isn’t a person alive who can tell you what democrat politicians or anyone else mean by “socialism”. Nor can they tell you the aspects of “captalism” they want to abolish.
“their support for socialistic policies is a sign that the old rules of politics are changing fast. “
My generation started voting for McGovern and they ended up voting for Reagan. So I don’ think rules are changing.
Schools and universities are the factories that breed them
For Generation Z, the word “socialism” does not carry the same stigma it did in the past,” and neither does living for decades in one’s parents’ basement, as record numbers of young people have been doing.
Not having to pay taxes or worry about mortgage payments is a wonderful formula for creating the useful idiots Socialism thrives on.
