David Horowitz Exposes the Left's Dark Agenda

David Horowitz has always been a writer whose work I've appreciated since his compelling political biography, Radical Son, which related the author's break from his communist upbringing after Black Panther associates murdered his bookkeeper friend Betty Van Patter. But brevity and crisp linkage of multiple intellectual threads were never characteristic of Horowitz's brilliant, often voluminous, exposés of leftist thought and practice. By contrast, Dark Agenda is a concise, chilling book brimming with evidence that links numerous cultural depredations to one overriding theme: The left's attack on Christian America's founding in the name of "cultural Marxism."

"Christian America" is the novel component in Horowitz's analysis, a term that acknowledges the historical fact that America, at its founding, was 98 percent Protestant. Protestantism, in turn, was intimately linked to the doctrine of "the priesthood of all believers" and to the more broadly Christian idea that all people are created by God. In view of these beliefs and the fact that Protestant groups were living side by side, it followed that in America there would be no institutional or governmental mediator between the individual and God. It also meant that each individual's rights were endowed solely by their Creator and that freedom of conscience and speech would be hallmarks of the new republic.

And Horowitz was a full up memeber of that crowd for a long time so I'm pretty sure he's spot on with what he says.

Yeah he knows them intimately. Glad he made the transformation to the side of good and left evil behind, but not forgotten.

It is interesting that although the nation was formed around Protestants (I don’t really like the term) there is not a single Protestant member of the Supreme Court. It has been this way for some time.

Originally there was a bias against Catholics because of their support of Monarchies and that many were Tories during the Revolutionary war.

Only 47% now identify as Protestant, if the Gallup poll is to be believed.

Which is why the attack on statues and monuments is an attack on white males and that’s why it’s done. It’s not about confederates or when other statues are attacked, about something else. It’s merely a white male.

The people who pull the strings of the left are trying to build a world with far, far fewer people in it.

Sitting on the left side of Congress are those reps who want to destroy American liberty and traditions. Sitting on the right side are those who, at least, pretend to be the defenders of liberty. Nice article on the tactics of the left.

And it is getting worse, and will get worse still.

12 In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted, 13 while evildoers and impostors will go from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived.

2 Timothy 3: 12 -13

We need to keep telling people about Christ, and keep looking up.

Only God knows the day of the Rapture, but I pray it is not far off.

Thank you for posting.

Trump: "Yet today, 240 years after the Revolution, we have turned things completely upside-down." - Donald Trump

And it's not just about jobs and economic opportunity. It's about freedom, exercise of "Creator-endowed rights and liberties," and opportunity for each citizen, not just self-appointed elitists who fancy themselves as entitled to make decisions for all.

See this web site, at which Richard Frothingham's outstanding 1872 "History of the Rise of the Republic of the United States" can be read on line.

This 600+-page history traces the ideas which gave birth to the American founding. Throughout, Richard Frothingham, the historian, develops the idea that it is "the Christian idea of man" which allowed the philosophy underlying the Declaration of Independence and Constitution to become a reality--an idea which recognizes the individual and the Source of his/her "Creator"-endowed life, liberty and law.

Is there any wonder that the enemies of freedom, the so-called "progressives," do not promote such authentic histories of America? Their philosophy puts something called "the state," or "global interests" as being superior to individuals and requires a political elitist group to decide what role individuals are to play.

In other words, they must turn the Founders' ideas upside-down in order to achieve a common mediocrity for individuals and power for themselves.

Thomas Jefferson wrote to Roger Weightman on June 24, 1826:

" I should, indeed, with peculiar delight, have met and exchanged there congratulations personally with the small band, the remnant of that host of worthies, who joined with us on that day, in the bold and doubtful election we were to make for our country, between submission or the sword; and to have enjoyed with them the consolatory fact, that our fellow citizens, after half a century of experience and prosperity, continue to approve the choice we made. may it be to the world, what I believe it will be, (to some parts sooner, to others later, but finally to all,) the Signal of arousing men to burst the chains, under which monkish ignorance and superstition had persuaded them to bind themselves, and to assume the blessings & security of self-government. That form which we have substituted, restores the free right to the unbounded exercise of reason and freedom of opinion. all eyes are opened, or opening, to the rights of man. the general spread of the light of science has already laid open to every view. the palpable truth, that the mass of mankind has not been born with saddles on their backs, nor a favored few booted and spurred, ready to ride them legitimately, by the grace of god. these are grounds of hope for others. for ourselves, let the annual return of this day forever refresh our recollections of these rights, and an undiminished devotion to them."

Some time ago, I posted the following:

"Perhaps the so-called "progressive" enemies of freedom understand better than those who fancy themselves as "conservatives" that in order to reverse the Founders' ideas of "People over government," and institute "government over People," they must first marginalize and destroy the ideas from which liberty is derived.

The writings of America's Founders are replete with references which rebuke would-be tyrants and cite a Higher Source for life, liberty and rights. Early histories confirm those facts.

As so-called "progressives" have led a movement in forsaking the Founders' "reliance on Divine Providence," and belief that individuals are "endowed by their Creator," they also have forsaken the principles underlying America's Constitution and Declaration of Independence, and are systematically dismantling the greatest protections for liberty ever established for a people.

"Ideas have consequences"(Weaver).

The ideas of 1776 came out of a set of ideas consistent with liberty.

We tend to forget, or have never considered, that other world views existed then, as now.

Unless today's citizens rediscover the ideas of liberty existing in what Jefferson called "the American mind" of 1776, we risk going back to the "Old World" ideas which preceded the "Miracle of America."

There are those who call themselves "progressives," when, in fact, their ideas are regressive and enslaving, and as old as the history of civilization.

OK. Right or wrong, how does that relate to ZERO on Supreme Court for many years?

Are GOP Presidents afraid to nominate one because of difficulty getting them confirmed by the ComDems?

Altogether possible. But what does that say for the future of the nation?

Supreme Court: The last Protestant
The Week Staff
April 29, 2010

“When Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens retires this summer, the court will be without a Protestant for the first time in its 220-year history”

That was 9 years ago. Oh, I forgot, Obama was NOT going to go along with having one.

“Are GOP Presidents afraid to nominate one because of difficulty getting them confirmed by the ComDems?”

Maybe Protestant Presidents prefer non-Protestants on the court. Was Harriet Miers the last Protestant nominated? I think I recall she was some sort of Evangelical.

Or it could be that Protestant Presidents prefer to nominate lawyers who went to schools where non-Protestants are more common than the general population, the north east law school circuit.

Like I said earlier, I really don’t like the term “Protestant”. I was raised Baptist and we claim were were never part the things that others say they protest.

Right or wrong. Not everyone who is not Catholic or Jewish is what is stereotyped as Protestant. (but almost none of us wearing the label are Leftists, Globalists, or Islamists. And certainly not Anti-American)

The “progressives” (American communists) drew up these strategies during the 1959s. They patiently implemented every one of them and America now stands at the brink of collapse.

11. Promote the U.N. as the only hope for mankind. If its charter is rewritten, demand that it be set up as a one-world government with its own independent armed forces

15. Capture one or both of the political parties in the United States.

16. Use technical decisions of the courts to weaken basic American institutions by claiming their activities violate civil rights.

17. Get control of the schools. Use them as transmission belts for socialism and current Communist propaganda. Soften the curriculum. Get control of teachers’ associations. Put the party line in textbooks

20. Infiltrate the press. Get control of book-review assignments, editorial writing, policy-making positions .

21. Gain control of key positions in radio, TV, and motion pictures.

24. Eliminate all laws governing obscenity by calling them “censorship” and a violation of free speech and free press.

25. Break down cultural standards of morality by promoting pornography and obscenity in books, magazines, motion pictures, radio, and TV

26. Present homosexuality, degeneracy and promiscuity as “normal, natural, healthy.”

27. Infiltrate the churches and replace revealed religion with “social” religion. Discredit the Bible and emphasize the need for intellectual maturity, which does not need a “religious crutch.”

28. Eliminate prayer or any phase of religious expression in the schools on the ground that it violates the principle of “separation of church and state.”

29. Discredit the American Constitution by calling it inadequate, old-fashioned, out of step with modern needs, a hindrance to cooperation between nations on a worldwide basis.

30. Discredit the American Founding Fathers. Present them as selfish aristocrats who had no concern for the “common man.”

31. Belittle all forms of American culture and discourage the teaching of American history on the ground that it was only a minor part of the “big picture.” Give more emphasis to Russian history since the Communists took over.

32. Support any socialist movement to give centralized control over any part of the culture—education, social agencies, welfare programs, mental health clinics, etc.

35. Discredit and eventually dismantle the FBI.

36. Infiltrate and gain control of more unions.

37. Infiltrate and gain control of big business.

38. Transfer some of the powers of arrest from the police to social agencies. Treat all behavioral problems as psychiatric disorders which no one but psychiatrists can understand [or treat].

40. Discredit the family as an institution. Encourage promiscuity and easy divorce.

41. Emphasize the need to raise children away from the negative influence of parents. Attribute prejudices, mental blocks and retarding of children to suppressive influence of parents.

42. Create the impression that violence and insurrection are legitimate aspects of the American tradition; that students and special-interest groups should rise up and use [”]united force[”] to solve economic, political or social problems.

It’s hard for me to picture any pres. nominee campaigning on nominating SC picks on religious grounds. How would it work? Maybe they could get away with campaigning on a non-ivy league law school nomination.

He need not campaign on that basis, in fact it would be better if he did not. But you see how the ComDems react to VP Pence, they attack him almost as often as Trump.
