She came. She saw. She conquered.
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez dominated the South by Southwest conference with her mere presence, bringing in a larger crowd than any of the 2020 presidential contenders, all of whom were asked about her or her Green New Deal in their own sessions at the popular event.
The 2,000 plus ballroom - one of the biggest in the Austin Convention Center - was packed, the overflow rooms were flooded with attendees and Bill Nye tweeted a photo of himself from the room waiting to hear the freshman Democrat from New York speak.
The crowd rose to its feet, whooping, cheering and hollering when Ocasio-Cortez entered, but, when she spoke, you could hear a pin drop.
Her one-hour talk was filled with economic policy, social policy and what she's learned in her two months as a member of Congress.
But her bigger message was one of hope, inclusion and equality, particularly for minorities.
She slammed the treatment of minorities throughout recent American history from Franklin Delano Roosevelt's New Deal, which she claimed was racist, to Ronald Reagan's treatment of minorities.
She decried the idea of incrementalism, a belief in change via small steps, and said it took big sweeping ideas to make a difference.
'This idea of like 10 percent better than garbage shouldn't be something we settle for,' she said.
The crowd cheered her on.

AOC was one of 79 candidates the far-left Justice Democrats endorsed in the Democratic primaries last year. Most of the candidates the JDs endorsed did not win their primaries. Only SEVEN of the 79 who got endorsements went on to win in November -- and all of them were in districts where Democrats always win anyway.
These people are delusional if they think they have any traction across the entire country. None of these dopes ever would have won in any of the swing districts the Democrats needed to win in order to get a House majority.

Keep in mind we’re talking Silicone Valley 2 in Austin now. But one HUGE DIFFERENCE: While the pay is a bit lower in Austin than the San Francisco area, the cost of living (including taxes) is less, maybe even one third in Texas. The people screaming for her at SXSW have TONS OF MONEY and if they direct it at her, she’s set, right up to running for the White House. Even ‘the jew’ (as the Dems see them) will have trouble matching the these millennials. She is not going away.

I can’t give her any hype as a little nobody. But to answer your question, pretty much the moment she books Madison Square Garden she’ll have the 20,000 people you mention. As far as I know, she’s never booked anything that large, yet.
After I made the post, it occurred to me was that the gathering in Austin was a CPAC wannabe.
There were more people at CPAC watching on TV in rooms other than the main hall than in Austin

The problem with that is she would never settle into a VP role. She could not take a secondary position to anyone. She would be a total loose cannon undermining the administration. No one could control her or get her to shut up. No presidential candidate would want to deal with that on a daily basis.
She is the height of ignorant arrogance.
AOC won in her district by targeting the Hispanic population with Chicken Little fear mongering using Identity Politics tactics. That population is 46.9%. The GOP must reach that population by canvassing the district with Hispanic workers. The GOP must use Identity Politics to defeat her. A successful, well-known Hispanic owner of a popular business should run. Already, he/or she would have credibility because of their success. Maybe such a candidate can create a folk hero status like the icon of the great uncle/or aunt that exists in their culture. Maybe finding someone with the name Tio or Tia would make it happen.
We must know that appealing to culture by turning the tables with Identity Politics is not racist, no matter how OAC will twist it. They will try but the Hispanics will not believe it if the person attacked is authentic.

OAC's congressional district has a 46.9% Hispanic population. I think her political advisers targeted that population to give her the win. I think she was a front for a behind-the-scenes organization that helped shape her image to the media and organize the social media campaign which appealed to the Hispanics and the younger voter; many were white. A robust grass root campaign was organized to knock on doors a year before the election. This effort targeted Hispanics and young people.
With the right candidate and good strategy, OAC can be history.

Everyone on FR does realize that she got in this position by responding to a CASTING CALL by the organization “Justice Democrats” right? It is Soros funded org.
Her district always votes D without an R to compete with, THEY (Justice Democrats) only had to win a primary. She only received 17000 votes, her opponent was asleep at the wheel.
She is not in Congress to represent her district, she is a representative of Justice Democrats. Everything she is doing and saying is being propped up and orchestrated via Soros $$$.

We have an organization trying to take over power within the Democratic Party, and by extension the House of Representatives. This is a form a COUP.
While AOC is an idiot, it is irrelevant, she is just a figure-head and has real power behind her - they’ll marginalize the Pelosi’s of the party and move the party toward truly *radical* policies reminiscent of all the famous leftists of history.
We can laugh, I have been too saying to let her talk all she wants (it’s a blessing!), but we MUST remember there’s hoards of young and ignorant voters out there that will give these people power. I now see her as extremely dangerous and this momentum she is gaining, via the support of many third parties, represents true evil and a real threat to the country.
It’s as though we’re experiencing a final “Soros tsunami” across the globe for globalism because he’s seeing it all fall apart with nationalist movements popping up everywhere. He’s within an inch of his goals and isn’t going to give up easily.
